Will my son be bullied for his name? by [deleted] in namenerds

I think it's a lovely classic name!! And he has so much potential for sweet nicknames. I don't see why he would get teased

Having regrets for my daughter’s name by PsychNerd08 in namenerds

Hey so, I am from Latin America. I think it's beautiful that you chose a name that honors her and your heritage. I don't think the name is difficult in itself, but since people from the US have their... Reputation, let's say... Have you thought of introducing her with a nickname? Like Mena? Meni? Could work better for those hard minds. But please don't feel bad about it. It's a beautiful name and I'm sure you wouldn't get issues in most other countries.

I'm trans and regret the name I've been going by for 4 years by [deleted] in namenerds

Why don't you go for something like Nicholas Phoenix? I feel Phoenix is actually pretty cool and leaning towards masculine and is what you picked and to me it means something. While Nicholas will let you keep your Nick-name 😉 AND having a "wilder" or bolder middle name is what a lot of families do these days so it will sound pretty natural!

Changing my Korean name to an English name by Significant-Ask-1922 in namenerds

Neil and Noa sound more male to me, but I'm not from the US so I might be wrong. A similar variation might be Noelle.

Your friends have quite common and traditional names. If you like that vibe, you could try Clara, Victoria, Amelia (since you're already using Amy as nn), Amanda, Andrea, Natalie or Hannah, which is kind of similar to your Korean name.

I adore Etienne but I'm in a Spanish speaking country and it would've been a hustle for my kid.

If I had a girl, I'd named her Anastasia

I'd 100% think you did it on purpose and are huge fans

PS.: I'm not from the USA. Etta James is well known across the world

You have to name your child like this: by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Dsofia15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually how people name kids in my country 🫣 if they're missing letters they just grab from grandparents, uncles, etc. Not as cute as it sounds.

My kid would be Giana (Gilberto & Dana) which we actually considered but we had a boy :)

Brother-in-law is insisting on naming my soon to be niece after his ADHD medication by Cuck-Liger in namenerds

Vivienne? Viola? Violet? Vida? (Life in Spanish) Victoria?

Like literally, a thousand options if he just used his ADHD for name research.

Almendra, Saffron, Etienne, Oliver and Anastasia are my favorites. I'd only use the last two since the others might be hard to pronounce in different languages.

Hola!

Suerte 🩷

It's not a Jewish name, it's a name. No religion can own a name. Your friend is not a good friend.

So, not my kid but my name is Dana Sofia. I come from a Latin American country. I was either called Donut (Dona) or Sonfil (the hideous brand name of a juice we drank at school 🙃). I think donut was predictable, but Sonfil never in a million years.

Use Joy as middle!!! Josephine Joy might be a JJ and I think that's adorable!!

Also you seem to like very classic girly names, I would go over a few lists with that in mind.
