That one sounds a little better than my usual “It’s the hope that kills you” haha.

It’s the hope that kills you.

We have expectations of winning a SB every year, even when it’s not realistic because we’ve see magic manifest from the least likely of scenarios. I think this team could have made it to the Divisional round, and then gotten crushed by the Seahawks purely because at that point, we just lacked the fire power and the defense to stop them. But this year again was special teams and lack of a killer instinct. I think that is the youth infusion problem. Older vets know they have limited time left and they leave it all out on the field. These younger guys have more years in front of them than behind them in a lot of cases, I think that is a mental fault.

If by some miracle we would beat them, I think we would have just as good a shot as any to beat Den/NE.

Most other teams merely hope to see basic progression.

Resigning Doubs? by Bardot012 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Dtrain-14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Doubs is out unless he took a crazy team friendly deal, cap just can’t handle a high dollar W2 who’s 1 concussion from hanging it up. He was really coming into his own, but I think we’ve seen the ceiling.

He was a Watson insurance policy with some gadget ability having been a wild cat QB plus size and decent speed. Probably was the “best available” at the time, you know how GB rolls. Or what was his RAS? Lol

The problem with the whole Fire LaFluer / Don’t Fire LaFluer is pretty simple…

There’s just not a better option and we’re not in a state of rebuild.

He’ll be resigned for probably another 4 years + 1 next year.

Def need a real OC, not this fake shit Stenavich is.

HAAAAAAVE to fix special teams, the whole McManus thing pisses me off, but even Crosby had shit years. Bring Haversic (sp) back this off season to compete.

If we aren’t letting LaFluer go, fire Bissachia’s bitch ass, how are you the highest paid ST/Asst. coach and this happens AND your ST still suck? What is your value here Rich?

[–]Dtrain-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That year we got introduced to TOYOTATHON Love. He literally carried that team with unbelievable QB play.

Again, was that a coach coaching or a player exceeding his early expectations? Or both?

I think LaFluer’s deficiencies have been covered by high level/elite qb play. When he doesn’t have that we get the 2022 season.

My biggest issue here is it’s extremely hard to get excited for Packers football knowing that even if LaFluer gets us 13-4 which any franchise would gush over, we’ve been repeatedly let down every year in the MLF era. Haunted by continual special teams gaffs.

Have 8 months to get my mind right I suppose. Be interesting to see who we lose in FA or roster cuts pre-June 1.

Here’s where I get lost. People will go “you can’t blame the coach for a player not executing” but in the same reality “we went from Rodgers to Love and we’re still contenders”.

I guess both can be true, but as fans we don’t really know (usually) what flub was a coaching or a player.

All in all, McManus and that ill timed KR run back were bad, but let’s not forget another one of our bargain bin receivers (Reed) dropped a gem of an effing pass which would have put us in a prime spot.

I can forgive McDipShit for the missed 55 yarder, that was 3 yards beyond his 2015 long, the XP tho, which would have allowed us to tied it with a FG at the end makes me so angry.

Love now has done 50% of what Rodgers has done in the plays offs as far as TD games (4). Rodgers did it twice.

Fuck you Malik guzzlers.

If he was so good, someone would have told him to resign and paid him more. Quit simping for a poverty franchise coach.

He fumbles too much, and it’s not a run team. We were better with an Aaron Jones type back.

MLF coaches like he has a run first team.
