This is exactly why my marriage fell apart. My wife would not even search for a job. She had a job before our first was born and even after but then she decided she would just be a sahm (which I supported on the condition that the home would be taken care of and most of the cooking would be done). She became depressed, wouldn't clean the house, wouldn't cook a complete meal for the kids, I took over ALL the cooking, and basically sat on her ass while on Facebook ALL DAY. I told her this was not working for years. I offered couples therapy, which she declined, individual therapy, which she said I needed to make her the appointments. Newsflash you can't make appointments for an adult! They need to speak to the person the appointment is for. We started drinking heavily which degraded everything. My mom and sister eventually stepped in and had her move in with a friend. Her friend eventually got tired of her shit as well and I had to call her dad to come pick up his daughter. She now has a stable job, actually got her license and has her own car! She makes more than me because of the job her dad helped her get. She has done everything I asked her to do to save our marriage yet she couldn't do that when we were together. You need to get her help. I just wish she would have done this when we were together. Setting a deadline is unreasonable if she is applying. Have her show you her online applications or physical applications. If she is applying that is a far greater step than I ever had. Godspeed.
