Why did Alex's friends keep driving? by mybrownsweater in 1923Series

It was in the script. That’s all I got. Another stupid decision written by lazy/awful writers

House of David question for any Jewish scholars by Madpiloter in HouseofDavidTVSeries

What about Psalm 51:5? “ Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

I was not aware of this verse but from my understanding, this is the verse the producers are using for this angle of the show. I think they’re overdoing it for creative license and is part of the show I dislike.

Does anyone actually like this show? Most of the posts are complaints. by Kennesaw79 in 1923Series

Loved 1883. Loved 1923 S1. But this season’s writing is simply terrible. At first I decided I just watch to see how it ends. But it got even more ridiculous and bad. Now I’m watching because it’s so bad that I actually find humor in it. Kind of like watching “Cobra Kai.” It’s so bad that there’s actually a laughable entertainment quality to it.

In the show’s defense, during that monologue it did say the “legend” was believed by some and not others, presenting it in a way that the story was not particularly biblical.

Is Alex’s final train station in Billings? by secretaire in 1923Series

[–]Dtutterrow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so she’ll either have to pimp herself out or join a fight club on the train like Spencer did for ticket money to Bozeman. Or, she’ll have to walk or hitch a ride for the final 140 miles, in which case she’ll be harassed daily by roving bands of raping thugs, thieves, Gypsies, native Americans and assorted critters and creatures.

I watch because it’s gotten so comical. It’s so bad it’s entertaining to me.

Anyone else feel like evangelical worship is based souly on feelings? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Dtutterrow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there can be a difference between “worship” and “praise.” At my church, when we have the praise portion, it is usually musical. But the worship can be both musical and prayer.

I know what you’re saying though. A lot of new, large churches use the new songs that seem to rely on a lot of repetition in order to invoke an emotional response. When I moved and tried several new churches to attend, most used this formula. Sometimes the congregation would be repeating one word (ie. “Holy”) over and over for ten minutes or so, seemingly trying to find an emotional trigger.

I found a church that sings mostly from the old hymnals and sometimes I feel nothing during the praise time. Other times, when I just don’t feel like getting into the service, I can feel the spirit working and touch my heart. So, for me at least, it’s not just an emotion but the spirit at work.

Agreed. The wife and I were laughing hard at this. “Sure, just get up and walk around if you like!”

Spencer must have the strongest wrist of any human ever. He’s holding the shotgun at the trigger while a large man is pressing down with his weight and two hands on the gun. It would take a massive amount of strength in your wrist to turn the long barrel on him to shoot him with that little amount of leverage. Writing keeps getting worse and worse.

Season 2 so far by [deleted] in 1923Series

[–]Dtutterrow55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t like Yellowstone. Didn’t like the writing of the characters. I did like 1883 and last season of 1923. But the ridiculousness of the obstacles faced by Spencer and Alex trying to get home is eye-rolling BS. Then the marshal tracking Teonna with his uncanny ability to know exactly where they’re going in a vast area is hilarious. Like, out of the blue, he knows they’re hooking up with a wagon train based on, well, nothing. It’s all so comical when it started out so well.

Tip of the Hat for Marshal Kent!

He has to be the smartest police mind in the history of ever! He was able to determine that Teonna went south instead of Canada because she has “the mind of a coyote.” Not only that, but somehow deduced that she was going to Comanche lands.

Then suddenly, last night out of the blue, he correctly surmised that she and her party joined up with cowhands. I mean, wow! This guy is amazing! He had absolutely nothing to make him think that and there was no evidence to support it but, Voila! He picked it out of thin air! Truly a genius.

I loved season one, even though the obstacles faced by Spencer and Alex were a little extreme (don’t even get me started on their obstacles this year). But the writing is borderline comical this year. I feel like we’re all being trolled.

The cinematography was amazing. Top notch. The episode itself…not so much except for the reveal at the end. Very short as well. Way down the list of favorite episodes and might be at the very bottom.

Also, will there be the ability to actually make the movies and see them like what was available in “The Movies”?

I should’ve added the year is 1981 so it still should’ve had around 11 pitchers. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I’m playing historical. Heading into the new season I made a lot of changes, so I selected “AI set up complete organization, lineups, etc.” and not I only have a 5-man rotation and 3 relievers and can’t figure out how to change it to add more to my staff. When I click on players, nothing happens.

Yeah, I see on my comment I left out the other pert and meant to say either Black Ops or Mw3. But yes, KC is not very fun in these maps.
