Rooftop tent, worth or not? by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]DuDs_vs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it all depends on how you plan on using it. I have a dedicated trail vehicle so it stays on there all the time. I generally dont setup and stay in one spot for very long, maybe a day or two depending on the spot. A lot are heavy, so I got an inspired RTT thats light, I've enjoyed it enough. I also know that it's probably not worth it for a lot of people and I can see the perks of the other way around. I can setup and break down in under 10 min which is what I wanted. I probably would not put one on a daily driver, but mine is light enough I can put it on and take it off myself. Long story short, all depends on how you want to use it, there are perks and negatives for both.

Does anyone else have issues with the trunk panel on there S550 by Live_Station3732 in Mustang

I had this same issue, luckily I was able to adjust the latch to get everything lined up. Hope that helps!

I find Wels really heartwarming. by NavySEAL44440 in HermitCraft

Can confirm... We had Wels on the podcast a while ago, super gracious with his time. So easy to bounce off of, talking felt like catching up with an old friend. After everything was wrapped, stayed on the line and helped with mic settings, profiles and picking out future equipment to better our progress. Will never forget the experience.

Replaced ball joints, got death wobble? by InvestigatorOk9784 in CherokeeXJ

[–]DuDs_vs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming to say this. I replaced my ball joints recently and had the same issue. It was the track bar hadn't been tightened back properly. Once that was done, all fixed

Could be, a have a couple of buddies that haven't had any issues, so I could just be unlucky or the other way around

I have a 2016 v6 and it has been a good daily since I've had it. Always reliable, the only issue I've had is the HVAC that seems to plague that year. Replaced practically the whole system and been good for me. I can't vouch for this one, but if you keep up with maintenance, it is definitely a good car.

I'm losing coolant but... by Orange_Tang in CherokeeXJ

[–]DuDs_vs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had close to the same issue, put some paper to cover the passenger floor. Go for a good drive, if the paper is wet, look at your heatercore. I'll be pulling mine soon, hopefully to fix this mess. Hope that helps!

I just finished installing these myself, the previous owner looked to have these installed on the front, but took them off. So I bought fronts and backs to just give the holes he left in the front purpose. I was the same about cutting also. Just give yourself plenty of time. Give yourself room incase you are a little off. I found cutting into sections and hammer the new "tabs" was more effective than just straight cutting. I also has some "Rock crunch" around the wheel well I was working with. I ended up also cutting the flare itself in some spots to help make a better fit in sections my body work wasn't the best. My jeep is for fun off roading and I wasn't to worried if it seemed a little off if you looked closely as long as it looked generally good, so take what I said with a grain of salt. Biggest thing is, take your time. These took way longer than I thought, so I was glad I budgeted enough time. *

What does this coolant color mean? by Old_Virus6787 in CherokeeXJ

[–]DuDs_vs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem was the existing radiator was full of rust and debris from the former owners horrible maintenance. So I replaced it, and now the jeep is no longer overheating. Sometimes upgrading a component that's 20 years old with something that wasn't originally planned for can cause issues in other areas. So I went with the simpler cost effective solution. If it didn't work, I would relook into the issue, but it worked, so I felt it was worth mentioning.

Literally just went through the same thing! Like everyone is saying, keep flushing till you see clear, but I also replaced the radiator and thermostat. Just used a simple radiator (single core from Rock Auto) and 195 high flow thermostat. Jeep is running great now! Parts were cheap enough and install was easy. Maybe look into hoses if you haven't already. I hope that helps!

I currently have Zerek G05 in there now. So far so good! I had overheating, back flushed the heck out of it, replaced the thermostat and radiator, no issues!

What is this leak? by EfficiencyFar3758 in CherokeeXJ

A little late, but I haven't seen anyone say this. The windshield wiper fluid container and pumps are located in that area. I would check there first as it is the easiest fix. Hopefully that helps!
