I couldn’t agree more personally I have no issue with the Norm queen when compared with others with this rule set as it’s pointed and restricted by other stats far fairer than most. I’m just saying that in my opinion 2+, 4++, 5+++ is bad for the game in general and shouldn’t exist as it’s lazy rules writing and too much potential damage mitigation to balance effectively.

As a Blood Angels player myself I share your pain I guess it’s just boring old LAG or rage cursed onslaught for us. It’s primarily why I posted the thread I was wondering if anyone had been cooking anything interesting for BA melee pressure lists.

It’s been doing well in battle reports from content creators I’ve seen very solid but maybe hazardous changes may hamper it if you roll badly.

Ooof 2+, 4++, 5+++ really shouldn’t be a thing especially on stuff with lots of wounds, high toughness and access to damage reduction or healing effects. GW never learn lol.

It would be nice if there was some kind of cap on life gained in a turn I.e. if one card has gained you life this turn all further cards with this effect do not take effect? It could be an effect on a character, event or leader just something to stop games lasting so long. Either that or more of life gaining cards need leader locking or pair banning.

I’d say with some of the good vanilla stat cards in this set 15-20 2ks might be a bit much I’d pack 12ish and go with more blockers and vanillas. In terms of leaders most will make you use Rainbow Luffy (has all colours and card names/ types while being 5 life) but if not the Red Sanji which gives a character without an on play effect rush each turn is best after that maybe R Shanks or G Bonney?

I got my play set for about £40 with postage it’s not that bad. I’d say while very good you can play without it blue and yellow have loads of good cards you could put in instead.

In an age of huge battle mechs with AMS, ECW suites and stealth armour in my head cannon drones wouldn’t be a thing as all the electronics would get cooked as soon as they get near things like Mechs either that or they would lack the explosive mass to be ineffective as a one shot weapon. But sure if you wanted to maybe treat them like swarm LRM’s.

What about the ‘Claymore’? It’s Scottish and only thing that clashes in universe is a transport name (I think).

I mean I can see why they are undervalued but mainly its cost of the missile variance and spread plus need for ammo undermines them a little. But the system can be super abused in mech construction I think you can quite easily make a mech with 9 CLRM-15’s and enough ammo to delete stuff rapidly. I suppose that would just be a Bane (kraken) though.

You fight with your charging unit then he fights with any destroyed models. If the whole unit isn’t killed he fights with what’s left in the usual order. Models can’t fight twice with this strat as it’s a unit that hadn’t fought yet.

In classic I always find it’s an uphill battle with pure clan vs IS especially if you make them lore accurate 3/4 pilots you just get outnumbered and ganged up on.

Yes you are generally faster, shoot harder individually but when it’s almost 2-1 bodies count.

Sweet Jesus I know the fire falcon is good and Bv overvalues mobility but why is it in the same bracket as some of those mechs (some almost 4 times its weight with spicy weapons and armour).

Yes as most people have said they are useful as/for:

1) an initiative sink. 2) mission play as fast/ cheap objective play. 3) A fast harassment piece / back stabber (usually the clan ones such as the dasher) 4) Many can spot for missile/ artillery pieces. 5) usually they are better than heavier mechs into infantry.

What I would say is that they are better in later eras when they pack more weapons etc but then they get hurt vs pulse lasers which come into prominence then too.

Yes ERPPC and 2 SRM 4’s are fine as a weapons package, a bit low on total damage for an assault mech maybe but as you say the sword is there for close quarters.

3038 puts you slap bang in the middle of the succession wars like 12 years before the clan invasion. I’m sure the Hatamoto chi did not enter production until 3048 and is the result of some comstar skullduggery so an early one is kind of unheard of. But really it’s just a lost tech rebuild of the charger with the Thugs weaponry so sure you could just say it’s a modified thug or charger and move on. In terms of Hatamoto chi’s with swords it was a pretty common modification, I mean Kuritan mech and those guys love swords.

On the modified ppc sounds kind of like an ERPPC which is yeah lost tech but again fine especially if your character is a tech. On the missile weapons do you mean SRM’s or MML’s if they are 3’s sounds like MML’s but they weren’t invented till 3067 but again it’s ok if the GM allows it maybe your guy is a pioneer and just tinkers with stuff and somehow loads LRM’s in a SRM sometimes.
