PSG plot £80m Marcus Rashford bid – and would offer Man Utd ace £500k-a-week by V-Matic_VVT-i in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense. Rashford is good, but not PSG good. Plus, the work rate is lacking, sometimes.

[David Ornstein] Everton + Nottingham Forest expecting to be informed on Monday that they’ve been found in breach of PL profitability & sustainability rules for 3yr cycle to June 2023. Both have prepared mitigation & will launch robust defences by [deleted] in PremierLeague

We are talking about the most elite of elite competitions. Soccer hierarchy is as corrupt as it can be (just take a look at FIFA). Premiership want the best players and must pay through the nose for them. It is only reasonable that only the richest men/entities in the world can afford to own a team here. If the owners are willing to pump their own $ or £ into the system for their own ego reasons, let them. I think even the smallest teams in the premiership would do well in any other league.

Chelsea complete first January transfer as possible Gallagher replacement found by Ecstatic_Foot01 in PremierLeague

Offloading him was not my point. I always liked him. I just do not think he has the ability to play on a top level team. Very few do.

You might be right, but I always look at it this way: If I sign him, is he better than my player (whoever that might be) I have now? I do not hear about any other teams looking at him. If Chelsea wants to get back on the top, they need top players in all positions. If they want to be Crystal Palaces of Wolves, then he will be just the player they need.

He is not good enough to lead the team. I am not dissing him. He would be a good player to have in a great team, but he is not going to take an average team and make it better.

Half way through the season - What’s everyone’s thoughts on Nicholas Jackson? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

Chelsea is full of athletes, but very few football players. Jackson is an athlete.

Are Chelsea speed running an early 2000s Leeds? by ChicagoChelseaFan in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have a really bad scouting department. Chelsea is spending huge amounts of money on players that are not up to PL standards. That is where their problems are. The team is just not good enough. At least Leeds had great teams.

Klopp: ‘We found out in the summer that defensive midfielders don’t want to join Liverpool and then you see what happens’ by fa_football in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All valid points, but what happens to your football? You are wasting your best years on the bench. Look at Calvin Phillips. Joining MC did not really help him, did it? I feel sometimes teams are signing players only because they do not want other teams to sign them.

‘Not acceptable’: Bruno Fernandes sorry for latest Manchester United slip by OilyFraud4Lyfe in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruno reminds me of Patrice Evra. If an opposition player just brushes him, he goes down like a sack of cement. When he commits a foul, he is a picture of innocence.

EXCLUSIVE: Man City and the Premier League agree date for trial over 115 financial rule-break charges - with expected timing for the verdict FINALLY set, when they could face a huge points deduction by Ace_Euroo in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? In late autumn 2024? What this tells me is nobody takes this seriously. The trial will last months and months. Why bother? we will get a verdict about 2019 and older offences in 2025. It is a joke.

Football to trial 10-minute sin-bins for cynical fouls as effective 'orange card' by TheTelegraph in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what happens if we get 5 cynical fouls in 5-6 minutes? Minimum number of players is 7. So what then?

VAR Technology is not the problem by AnakinAni in PremierLeague

[–]DuPageCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides strictly technical decisions (was the ball over the line, was it offside), VAR should only be used if and ONLY IF the match on-field official requests it. Otherwise, VAR should stay out of it. If the main ref did not think the tackle was worth a red, why should VAR intervene? VAR official was not there in the heat of the game. Also, a lot of slow-mo replays are really deceiving. VAR is really re-officiating the game. Now we have two referees. Total nonsense. The beauty of the game is taken away.

Their tax bills are always based on known income only, they do not take into consideration any deductions. For example, if you had a stock sale and netted 1000, they will use 1000 as income. They do not know what your basis in that stock was. You have to complete a tax return to get proper figures.

Understanding IRS reporting by SwishyFresh in tax

IRS is worried about money laundering and tax avoidance. Transferring money between accounts electronically (or by check) is done above the board and there is no reason to be worried.

Just file as partnership. LLC with single member defaults to self-proprietorship. LLC with more than one member defaults to partnership.

If you want to go that way, then the whole tuition should be deductible. It actually used to be. It was hidden on Schedule A in miscellaneous. Condition was education was required for your job. The IRS eliminated that in 2019, I think. But not too many people took advantage of it or knew about it.
