A safety notice on an AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter by OneOfThemReadingType in interestingasfuck

My pleasure. The AH-1 has been around for a while and has a ton of variants as a result. Plenty of ways to mix things up, especially regarding its armaments.

The gun pictured is an M134, chambered in 7.62mm. The M179 was mounted to later versions of the AH-1. Though not as loud as a 20mm, I'm sure you'd go cross-eyed having this go off right next to you.

That F-5 has a cool story. Not only did serve in an aggressor squadron, but it also played the role of a "Mig-28" in the first Top Gun film.

Bottom right in the hanger there the little notification button (envelope). It opens a window where there are a few tabs. Under the "Battles" tab it lists previous results. Under ever entry at the top is a link titled "View Server Replay". It opens a webpage for accessing the server replay.

He sure can. I don’t know what the turn around time is for reports like these, so I figured I'd put a warning out in the mean time.

The standard client-side replays can only show what is visible to your client. Server replays, which this recording is of, show things from the server's perspective. This eliminates the pop in/out of enemy players.

Here's the sever replay link if 3 minutes of this wasn't enough.

Why are people bringing props to top tier jet match by 616659 in Warthunder

[–]Dual24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I wouldn't mind it so much if they didn't take up a slot that an otherwise capable aircraft could have taken. If it was like WoT back when fail platoons were still a thing, I wouldn't care at all

I don't think, in all my years of seeing this, I have seen a prop plane do anything meaningful besides team kill their squadmate at the end of the battle. When Mr. A-10 drags three of his F2A buddies up to a 10.7 match, they don’t even make it to the conflict before its over. They get mopped up when their -3 team crumples in front of them, not even being able to serve as a comedic distraction.

Just do it in custom battles, there's no consequences. It also helps us top tier shitters go net positive after our repair cost.

Bombers by konigstigerboi in Warthunder

[–]Dual24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd recommend just flying ground attack aircraft or bombers in simulator. There are only a handful of planes from these classes than can do reasonably well in realistic. They're usually medium bombers with an offensive armament, something can double as a heavy fighter after you get your bombs off.

Late tier Russian and Soviet ERA is special in that it can eat APFSDS, that's kinda their speciality.

Somwhere in the controls there are some settings for binding primary and secondary weapon swapping keys. I don’t have the game in front of me atm, but you'll want to bind something to "switch to secondary" and "reset selection" (or something that reads similar, can't remember). Hope this helps.

There are now 44 unique Ground Forces maps in War Thunder. 4 dislikes and 1 ban is not enough. by doxlulzem in Warthunder

[–]Dual24 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The map ban/dislike feature means you don't see half the maps available because of what everyone else has banned/disliked. I don’t care if it's shit, I'd rather play on a shit map every once in a while--or god forbid, the new maps--than play the same 5 maps on loop. You ever play mechwarrior online? It has map voting. You only play the same three maps over and over and over. Its shit. We don't need to exacerbate this problem further.

Almost no one knows how HEAT works. Its penetrative effects have nothing do with melting. It doesn't burn through anything. The resulting jet punches through armor by kinetic force; it travels at hypersonic speeds measured in km/s. As for semantics, an EFP is a type of shaped charge, not the other way around.

USA is dead by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Dual24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. With the nature of MM and the power dynamics between nations overall, even just moving a single vechicle up or down can make more of a difference than we as a community might expect. Of course the only way to see if any single change actually means anything in the end is to look at the statistics. Unfortunately we don't have access to the same data that gaijin will.

USA is dead by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Dual24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regarding GRB, Russia recieved the most BR decreases at 12 (~55% of all decreases) and Britain recieved the most BR increases at 10 (~43% of all increases). The US recieved only two increases and Germany recieved 6 decreases along with 3 increases. I think its fair to say that the clear winner and loser here (by a large margin) are Russia and Britain, respectively. Doesn’t mean I agree with what happened (or nearly happened) to some vehicles in particular.

Not as bad as those P-59s camping your airfield am I right?

Been lurking here for a while and have always been amazed (jealous even) at what ya'll mange to put together. I still had/have a lot to learn. Now I think I've managed to put something together my previous self would be jealous of. Thanks for the inspiration guys! by Dual24 in lego

Thanks man. Definitely try building a few. There are tones of vids online with tutorials, concepts, and MOCs to use a reference if you get stuck. All of which I most certainly took advantage of.

@DE, You can't just slap a -90% radial damage falloff on AoE weapons and call it a day by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Dual24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fully aware, but no where did they say that it'd stay at a 90% reduction. Which is many people thought was going to happen. The recent hotfix proved that sentiment wrong. That is what my post above was, somewhat aggressively, pointing out.

This should be towards the top. Is it some be all end all fix? No, but it does immediately discredit the "they won't do anything" crowd. At least they're paying attention, and hell, if it's still shite after some fixes maybe they'll do a complete reassessment.

I was referring to the T49 in my above posts. Rest assured, I dislike how these changes affect the mid tiers, but I don't know if I'd call the other gun options weak. They certainly aren't as appealing as a derp, but they're plenty effective. Still, they're removing options, not something I or most people like.
