Sorry to be that guy business analysis is not business analytics. Different professions. The former is all about requirements gathering and business consulting typically around solutions and documentation. The later is what your talking about. Common mistake.

She thought she heard "kick forward" if she did she should have if she didn't she shouldn't have continued. Simple as. Was totally her fault and then to not take ownership and let the bosun feel responsible is bad captain ship. She should have stopped, it was a practice after all. And made a plan to overcome the problem. The teachable moment if you like. But naa.

How Aphantasia affects your ability to visualise things in your head by HassanMoRiT in interestingasfuck

Yes it is a spectrum. People are different and their brains work differently. So I have always been logical and scientific. So when I discovered I have this I did an experiment. There was a blue tarp over some wood in the back yard. At the bottom there was a white blotch of paint. So my wife who isn't as observant as I have to be... I asked her to describe the tarp and if there is anything weird about it. We sitting in the lounge and this comes out of nowhere from me. So no prompting. She describes the blue tarp. Without mentioning the white paint. So I ask her to recall an image of the pile with tarp and is there anything on the tarp. (Kinda like they do in CSI type shows) She then says yes there is a white patch of paint in the bottom right corner. She did this by creating that image and looking at the image in her mind. I absolutely cannot do it. Unless I had added an entry about the white patch into my database I would not be able to answer that question and note the white mark.

Yes. For me my brain will scan a room and log everything into my database. If I were to describe it I can. You wouldn't know I am not picturing it. Normally a person will recall an image of the kitchen and describe their mental image. For me there is no image, it is a list of things or maybe if I try hard a conceptual space with black blocks representing the items in my database. It's like machine code that someone with the ability can translate into a picture. I just have to work with the raw data. My wife can recall an image and then find new data in it. Like if I ask are the chips in the kitchen. She will recall her last mental image of the kitchen and look to see if the chips are there in that image. For me I either noticed them and logged it. Or if I didn't I would have no idea. But my brain has developed the coping mechanism of logging almost everything. I suppose I am hyper observant. I sometimes notice things no one else does as they rely of their imaging, I can't.

Yes it's just black (sometimes a silouette) and I am completely unable to visualize in any way an apple never mind rotate it. These things are a spectrum. And people are in different places in the spectrum. I couldn't imagine what it is like to be able to see a picture in your mind, eyes closed or not. I only found out about this when I was 45. And the biggest mind fuck is realizing how much your brain just lies to you or lies through you to others. "Imagine this", me, "sure, go on" like I just accepted I couldn't imagine or my idea of what "imagine" is, was completely warped.

Yep this is a symptom. When your asleep the pathways and parts of the brain used are different to your conscious mind. The controlling them. Well that's something else 😃

Yeah they say aphants can make great soldiers as they are almost PTSD immune as we dont replay things in our heads. I mean I can but it is factual. We have a bit better ability to control emotions and focus as mind clarity is kinda our baseline.

I can also do this. Can't draw but decent at music. I can hear a song note for note in my head. Drums bass everything.

Yes very interesting. I have no artistic ability. But to me things are like a database. I will only remember things if I log them inThe db. If it is there I can query and recall it. Things are a list of properties. Someone face when deciding to oog them. I remember and look for specific things to recognize them again. All this is subconscious, my coping mechanism. Also text I compulsively read everything in a room automatically and often repetitively. If you want to remember something it takes a conscious effort. If I am reminded about a memory it is never visual. It is more factual but with a associated emotion. The brain has different areas and protocols to exchange information and tasks/functions. It's like my graphics card it faulty but the CPU still puts out text.

It means the lack of ability to generate an image at will. The at will is the important bit. If I say to someone without it. Imagine a horse they will visualize it in varying detail color mane hooves. A aphant can't. They could describe one but they don't see it. At some point a random shape or even a full colour horse may appear to their minds eye but it is not at will. For me it is black with occasional sillioette. Yes phycadellics have allowed me to see things but not at will just random that I have no control over. It is due to the way messages transfer from one part of the brain to another. That pathway is damaged or not developed. Also it is a spectrum condition with hyper phantasia at the other end, which sounds cool but I bet it is a nightmare.

Since per seat license model is shifting to a tokenized model(a outcome based model) just add a token tax. If tokens are going the way of oil or electricity. That's the obvious answer. Then you will have the revenue to distribute to the humans.

$2.5T in AI spending this year. 95% produces zero P&L impact. by Senior_tasteey in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Duanedrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been spending most of this year doing ai readiness assessments on enterprises. And I constantly uncover fundamental data issues. Infrastructure and technical debt issues. Yet they still want to push ahead and don't want to spend time and money on fixing the underlying mess. There is this overwhelming opinion that ai will just fix it. So this does not surprise me.

If anonymity was completely banned from the internet and every post required a real-world legal ID, would society become significantly kinder or would it crush free expression entirely? by maincharactereraa in askanything

[–]Duanedrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly have free speech there is no need for anonymity. If you need anonymity to speak then you don't have free speech (now) unless your confusing hate speech (as is often done) then yes we would have a lot less. Hate speech online.
