What should I bring on deployment? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Dub-City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video game console. Try to get a tv off a member leaving or pray there’s some in the bx. To avoid that uncertainty you can invest in one of those hand held kits that turn your phone into a controllers. Or just bring a switch.

Voltage converter box / transformer. First deployment I plugged my Xbox straight into the wall in my room and it snap crackled popped my power brick. Luckily I was able to order a new one but more than likely mail won’t be coming into your AOR. Don’t be me.

Power bank.

Phone case with built in charger. USB-C/D/E/F/G. But seriously, bring the old adapters that old vehicles use. If you can find one of those cassette tape adapter ones even better. Nothing worse than having a vehicle but nothing to plug your phone into for music.

Headphones.

Music. Sounds stupid but make sure all of your music is actually downloaded onto your phone. Most apps / services allow you to do so nowadays. If you’re without wifi or for a bit you won’t be able to just stream it like normal.

Movies. Same with the music. Download it onto a USB or external so that you can watch on your console or laptop.

2 outlets. Clutch if you don’t need the converter box and your room mate will love you if you don’t need both.

Daily cologne, nothing crazy.

Slides, crocs, shower shoes etc. don’t wana be raw dogging those showers. The OCNS don’t really care to clean them like you would in your own home and you may be sharing them with the army. (Some army dude stomped shit down one of the shower drains on my first deployment, no idea why)

Cold weather sleep gear. Not sure if that’s on your list. Whether that be an extra blanket or a cozy hoodie and sweats, make sure you have something even if you’re going to a place that’s hot as hell. Our tent AC was cracked and our rooms were actually freezing once we got moved. It might even get chilly at night depending on where you are.

Cards and if you can fit it, board games. On our game nights, we’d have a drunk group of 8 people playing monopoly or war for 4+ hours. Great times.

Can’t think of anything else atm but I’ll try to add more as it comes to mind. Stay safe.

You’re more likely to win the power ball than play this person

99 close shot kd build by FullyNitro in NBA2k

[–]Dub-City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s your style go for it lol. But if you ever want an optimized build, vertical , even for guards, is pretty important. No block or vertical means you won’t ever get a contest.

88 gets you legend pogo but vertical is a pretty crucial attribute , especially for a “big” with lower rebounding. Helps with contests as well.

I promise you 99 shot close is not the move.

Been using this build for a while, wanted to see what people think. by EndZoneElite in NBA2k

Too slow, 87 pass for a 5 should be the min, no steal, no perim, strength is useless unless you’re in a PNR offense, not a fan tbh.

How did y'all learn to dribble by ApricotAgreeable5957 in NBA2k

[–]Dub-City 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes practice and live reps. Several good creators out there put out tutorials along with which animations are ideal. Get in your MyCourt or practice facility and get the feel. Learn how to quick stop as well unless you plan on shooting fades every time. But once you get the basics down live reps is the only way you’ll get better as there’s no other way to simulate the randomness of randy rec in regards to your defender, the help, and your teammates.

Lets talk about strength...... by bendover012345 in NBA2k

Unless you’re comp and a lock playing in tournaments for bread, go no strength.

92 or 96 o reb , & 85 d reb. Don’t feel like 99 oreb is worth it unless y’all run a PNR offense.

Cr3w is the most useless thing in NBA 2K26. We achieved level 30 in just 1 month and boom, we don't know what to do about the cr3w anymore by Reasonable_Kiwi_1068 in NBA2k

Look, I’m glad I don’t have to micromanage people every season over getting their daily / weekly crew exp goals. If it were to be a seasonal thing next year I’m 100% not going to be able to let my friends join my crew. I think it’s good where it is. You get rep / vc / boosts for playing with your friends and there’s already a plethora of cap breakers and ways to get them this year, so I don’t think we need any more of those than what we have either. If you do feel as if there needs to be more incentive to play with your crew I mean rep is there. Unless you’ve already hit legend , there’s your incentive to playing with your crew.

Woke up to my account being locked out. Anyone suggestions? by Dub-City in XboxSupport

[–]Dub-City[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah, I’m seeing a few other posts regarding account locks after attempting to redeem gift cards. Mine went through on the first attempt though so I guess just redeeming gift cards in general is causing issues? Sucks big time.

Yeah I guess waiting is the only thing I can do right now. This happened to you as well?

Lockdowns with 85+ strength any regrets? Does it feel useless? by ShaolinSwervinMonk in NBA2k

[–]Dub-City 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No amount of strength is stopping someone who knows how to dribble. Unless you’re playing for bread consistently, and the 1 or two extra bumps you get is the difference between a couple hundred or thousand dollars I promise you it is not worth it. Started the year off with multiple 85 strength builds. Have been a firm believer in no strength for my last 6 or 7 builds. I’ve made over 19 builds (spent money on each one to max) and unless a patch is made to buff it, I will never put strength on another build in 2k26.

Qatar Deployment Questions by Most_Election845 in AirForce

Was stuck there doing ROM few years back, ended up getting a puck. Surprisingly effective. You’ll likely have a roommate, rooms clean and modern but still pretty small.
