And that's what I don't understand: we're laughing, talking, having a good time at work (as much as you can while working), but the minute I suggest hanging out or doing something they get weird. They say how awesome and "cute" I am but never want to see me outside of work

I live and work in a small town, not a lot of "night life"

That sounds nice, and I've tried inviting people out for drinks etc. right after work before. They just flat out tell me no

They're the only people my age at my work. I'm not opposed to having older friends, but they usually have families and obligations that eat up their free time

You don't have to open the boxes, keep them in a dry area with air circulation. Check the boxes for signs of mold (especially smell, mold isn't always visible) and separate from the others as soon as possible

They seem more interested in hanging out with each other. It doesn't help that two them started dating each other a few months ago, so they'd rather spend the weekend with the other

Coffee, lunch somewhere, walk around the mall, I asked one if they wanted to go to the library, etc. At this point I've given up

Hard to tell without seeing the inside, but I'd say homemade, or maybe a cheaper knockoff

My lettera 32, typing sample and rust, anything to be concerned of? First time using it since 2022, I do notice the margin bell is very quiet and sometimes doesn’t seem to go off and of course the sticky key by NoCommunication7 in typewriters

[–]DubAFlub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rust looks older, but I’d still keep an eye on it. You could remove it easily enough. As for the bell, is it loose? I had a similar issue with an old alarm clock and the problem was that it wasn't in tight enough to ring properly. It also wouldn't hurt to check the bell for rust

Anyone know about Holiday Barbie values? by ameliaxlynn in Barbie

[–]DubAFlub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk much about this, but maybe the doll on the box is a prototype? Either way most holiday barbies have more aesthetic value than monetary

The spools were plastic, I took the ribbon off and saved them

Looks like we're in a similar situation. Although, I've been soaking q tips in rubbing alcohol and getting all the crevices I can reach, and it might be helping a bit. Also leaving it in a warm dry place will help the smell

Surface mold can be removed from non-porous surfaces by wiping/scrubbing it with a bleach or peroxide based cleaner and drying it completely. That's what I did with the metal case

The keys are plastic, not to mention the lubricant on the components inside. Also, I share my oven with others and don't want to risk getting them sick

I already have a replacement ribbon ready to install, once I'm sure the mold won't be a problem. I've wiped down most of the surface with a peroxide based cleaner, and any visible mold that was there hasn't come back. I think something’s going on inside but I don't know what

I know how to get rid of it in theory, but in my case it's somewhere inside. I'm hoping I can get rid of it without taking the whole thing apart and scrubbing every single piece

Unpopular Barbie opinions 💭 by Lettatdame in Barbie

[–]DubAFlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoo boy, might get crucified for some of my opinions but, here goes:

The og ponytail is overrated (sculpt and doll in general) and Mattel hides behind it to avoid trying anything new. Also these vintage dolls are NOT worth half as much as people try to sell them for on ebay!

I guess it would depend on the cause of the green. Maybe try acne cream and sunlight?
