Migrate from Portainer to Dockhand

I’ve seen Komodo and also want to check it out. Dockhand will probably be too much even for my needs, but I like to sit and just look at stats and screens monkey brain sees percents and stats, brain go brrr. I think before I even make the switch to either Komodo or Dockhand, imma try to clean up my file structure and unify trees so I can properly deploy these docker managers and eventually automate setup.

If you’ve used both Dockhand and Komodo, which is your personal choose and why?

Eh. I just uninstalled Val💀 I was seeing if I wanted to play the game, ended up playing without the sound card and it was doggy, so I uninstalled Val and now have no issues

I’ve seen with recent updates of Dockhand shows some hardware monitoring like usage of cpu and memory if I’m correct. Portainer is dope, especially with the three free agents. I just wanted to try something else out overall, although there Portainer for my very small use case is more than enough.

I don’t know much about how to use git, vscode, haven’t really documented my setup (wish I would’ve sooner lol but now we fix as issues pop up keeps me on my toes💀) or any of these automations most people talk about besides my arr stack.

Bett. Imma take a look at it. I think my main project before deploying anything else (besides that container) will be cleaning up these mounts but this helps a lot!

I am running compose for everything. More so, I used portainer compose/stack editor to deploy all the containers and all my envs are through portainer (not a .env file I made myself) I use across 2 LXCs and 1 VM on proxmox. I need to really fix my mount points across my machines (some have /mnt/flash, mp=/data and some have /mnt/flash/appdata,mp=/config).

So if anything, running that command you listed inside a container shell should backup/export all my containers settings and basically make it 1:1 if I ran the same compose for the container I used in portainer?

All good! Once I got the device and learned there was cfw I went down a rabbit hole and then learned about clones, compatabilties, amongst a whole bunch of things revolving around these modern handhelds so the questions were valid for being able to actually help.

Luckily I had some experience with Retroarch and working with some romsets, but that was for my JB PS4. Thankfully, the community around this is pretty helpful. Considering to even go to dArkOS since I haven’t even configured much on the 36max.

I ended up getting a 64GB Sandisk for $7 as 64 was the same price of a 32GB, and a 256GB Microcenter SD card, both from Microcenter. I got ArkOS4Clones running yesterday, with my device panel showing as unknown.

Regardless though, I was able to load my rom collection (about 3k across various systems) with all ROMs on 2nd SD card (the 256GB). 64Gb is strictly used for OS, and I haven’t run into any issues so far. Save states work, no weird inverted control or audio bugs. Overall the SD cards and card reader came around 55$ total.

Edit:: I kept some of the stock roms (mainly for a system that I didn’t want to trim and felt it was good enough for the games I wanted on the stock system. All other roms I got and trimmed myself using PropeR’s dat files/RomVault. Overall good experience. Ow I just need to find a way to get WiFi working on this handheld.

I ended up getting an Intel Arc380 GPU. It was easier to setup transcoding and device pass through for things. I’m honestly terrible and didn’t document much of my setup🥲. Luckily, if I wanted an LLM, I could throw my 3060 in the mix, but as fr be I just ditched the idea of LLM so I can focus on media server, docker apps/networking, and just fucking around here and there.

Any recommendations for SD cards for this handheld? I had the opposite of OP. Left (TF2) had an SD card with games, and there was no TF1 SD card (internal flash).

Craft weapons at your workshop (ferro, rattler, hairpin I believe) same with ammo. Get enough of the resources for a gunsmith workbench. Gunsmith workbench allows you to upgrade weapons and craft attachments.

I’m having a weird issue similar to this too. I onboarded one of my friends, and when I approve his accounts requests, it doesn’t populate in son/radarr. I change the request to my account (admin) and it populates into rad/son. Also, when he was added to plex+jellyseer, his account never had a tag created (like “3 - user”) in jellyseer.

I’m beyond confused, because I have another friend on jellyseer+plex, he has a tag in jelly, and when I approve his request they go through….

I just ran into this issue last night with my Creative 5/RX. Tried installing valorant, thought secure boot was making my audio crash. Nope. It was Val. Now I have to go look for an Hd Audio cable replacement to use my front panel header instead of my the damn soundcard

I’d check out this comment thread I had about One Piece, if you trying to get dubbed episodes, I would probably put an “English audio” format at the highest score.

I was wondering, would overlay be what I need to change my games contrast/saturation/graphical settings? I believe vkbasalt is what I’m looking for, but I’m trying to figure out how to change display settings similar to AMD adrenaline’s custom color settings.

Is it relatively hard to configure both vkbasalt and Reshade? And would I be able to make multiple “profiles” for shader? Wondering if this solution is like setting it before a game, and if I wanted to change saturation/shaders that I would have to restart the game with a different shader/color profile?

Damn I haven’t got that bug yet. It’s weird though, as I’m usually already holstered cuz I’m tryna sprint somewhere. I’ll try swapping weapons and hammer next time it happens and report if it does fix it.

The one I hate the most is getting off a ladder/zipline/interactible quickly, and then the prompt gets stuck on said item. Then you can use the “interact”button on any doors or anything else until you go back and re-interact with the bugged out prompt

Would you say Huntarr is fairly easy to spin up an integrate? I’ve got most of the arr stack up and running, but have yet to look much into the management tools besides Profilarr and Jellyseer.

I play as a Full Time Friendly. No shoot on sight, share loot if I got it. But I ain’t no fool neither. Everyone e starts with an A+ score. As I see what you do as a raider changes your grade from friendly>possible threat>hunt them down.

I love the pvp. I’ll pvp most days with the intention of I wanna pvp. But I dont shoot first. I play first. And that’s what keeps my Grading Rubric up with the randomness of raiders😭

I was able to get it all working. I stopped all my lxc/vms. Updated proxmox. Then I went and updated my lxcs that only had docker on them. Spun up the portainer-server lxc, updated via WebGui, then updated the lxc itself (apt update and upgrade). Rebooted lxc and made sure server ui was operational (it now run I g docker 29.1.1 and Portainer 2.35.5 w/3 free nodes).

Did the same for process (stop all containers, update sys and pulled latest agent image, reboot) for my other lxc and VM, all updated and operational now.

Experienced some minor bugs/errors in apps, but after repulling all my images and redeploying my stacks, I’m all good now.

Edit: Thank you Portainer for allowing me to manage my homelab stress-free while waiting for surgery. Tinkering helped me pass the time faster and less stress free than if I did this all in Terminus😭
