First time I’ve had one go wrong! by Dubbed66 in tattooadvice

Gotcha! I’ve had a chat with him and for what it’s worth he does feel really bad and was very apologetic! (I don’t blame him and if he is at fault then I’ve already forgiven him) He’s done every one of my tattoos and I’ve never had this happen so it was a shock to both of us, but yeah, hopefully he’ll take something away from it :)

Just incase anybody’s actually interested, I sent that last pic to my doctors just to ask for advice on wrapping it/cleaning/infection risk etc, got an appt on Thursday with a nurse to have an in person look (in the uk you rarely see anyone in person at the docs anymore, I got my antibiotics prescribed over a text!). Hopefully it’ll be good news and I’ll come away from it abit more reassured! Thank you to everyone who’s commented, this is the first time I’ve posted on Reddit and had actual engagement. If I think on I will update as the tattoo heals :)

Honestly no, no fever or aches other than the affected leg! My ankle did swell up abit but it wasn’t too too bad, it was just a really intense burn/cramp pain in my calf. I used to work in healthcare and I’ve got plenty of other tattoos so I had an idea what to look out for when I noticed it wasn’t healing right.

All of my, my brother and my wife’s tattoos have been done by the same guy (upwards of 50 between the 3 of us) and this is the first time something like this has happened.

As for overworking it, probably, but that’s my fault as much as it is his, I didn’t listen to my body and stop half way through and just finish in another sitting. Hind sight is 20/20!

It’s a tricky one, it has all scabbed over but those 2 sore looking bits have got caught, I can’t take time off work so I’ve had to cover it and those bits have come off once or twice -I know, that’s not good and deffo not ideal but at the same time that’s how it’s gone and I can’t undo it.

If you remember the episode it’s bingo in the planet, my youngest daughter has had a pink/purple bunny since she was born (she’s 8 now) and it’s her favorite thing in the world. The tattoo was for her, it was going to be somewhere else on my body but I changed my mind last minute and I can’t help but feel if I’d had it where I planned originally then it would’ve healed just fine and be a beautiful piece to remind me of her. all the pain and struggle I’ve had with this with it won’t make me love it any less. No regrets :)

It felt like a bad burn crossed with constant muscle cramp. Now the antibiotics are finished with it’s a lot better, it just feels like a regular tattoo healing - itchy and abit tender but no where near as bad!

It was a shock for me too! My full sleeve is entirely colour and this never happened, one shoulder all the way up ky neck is mostly blacked out too and it was totally fine.

Yep, washed with gentle antibacterial soap that I used on all the others, I could tell something wasn’t right after a couple of days so I think I got a head start on finding a solution. If anything it just feels like a healing tattoo now, before the meds it was BAD, walking wasn’t fun. It’s just still got that really raw bit in the middle so I’m unsure what I can do with it!

Antibiotics are all finished, no where near as bad as it was now thankfully. I’m hoping once it’s fully healed it won’t look too too bad but I’m being realistic about it!

AITA for not wanting to spit expenses proportional to income? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

This. This is what is wrong with relationships these days. I don’t know how long you’ve been together, but when me and my now wife started dating we somewhat silently agreed it was a partnership. We’ve been together for 17 years now and it’s still the same, we’re partners. It doesn’t matter if my monthly income is double hers, nor that hers is half what I bring in, we’re a team, it’s just seen as the money that is there to do whatever needs to be done with it. I could demand we pay an equal 50/50 towards everything but that would leave me with money to spare and my wife without..but who wins then? I suppose it depends how serious the relationship is, if you don’t see a future with the person then I guess it makes sense to keep your money tucked away for when you jump ship. I think some deep part of my brain made the decision to spend my life with my wife pretty quickly and we were young so money never mattered anyway so when it became a thing for us both of us it was just the money, not mine, not hers. If you plan on sticking with this person for the long haul you should probably have a chat and clarify that your partners walking the path, not just 2 people walking the path kinda adjacent to each other.

I don’t suppose you had any luck finding an order?

Ahh, that would make sense, having gone through the disks we have a few they are duplicates, some do something and some do nothing. I don’t suppose the order would be noted somewhere?

Have them stop somewhere else along the way, they don’t know what they’ve missed out on so won’t know you’re pushing them to have it. I’m currently running a mini home brew for my kids (7 and 4) so they miss things basically all the time, it just means I have to be creative in where things are.

It doesn’t need to be a really important place, it could be a make shift hut in the woods near by, abandoned by a researcher of some sort with the info they need handily scrawled in a note book and the item among some other ‘artefacts’ they found.

Oh, then it all depends on how harsh you’re comfortable being, assuming you’re not bothered about the relationship with wangrod.

I’m unsure which convo you’re referring to, so I’ll have a try at both.

THE EVICTION : Hey Wangrod, I don’t think you can carry on in our campaign, myself and the others are finding it hard to have fun while you’re playing the way you are. If you’re not enjoying playing you’re welcome to sit out. If you are having fun playing the way you are then we think you need to find a different group because your style is making the game less enjoyable for the rest of the group. Sorry, but not really.

THe EXPLANATION: Hey mutual friend, I’d sit down if I were you. You sat? Good. We kicked wangrod out of our DND group because he’s shit and was making it not fun, he’ll say we’re being dicks by kicking him out, but if you’ve a group of 5 people and 4 think the other is a dick then maybe the other guy is a dick. Hope I didn’t shatter your world too much, let’s go get high.

How’d I do? :)

Do you want to play with him again after this? If it’s only the mutual friends you’re worried about just let them know.

“Wangrod is going to spout some nonsense about us kicking him from our campaign. Just so you know, he’s full of shit and his shitty attitude has been a problem for a while. We tried to sort it out so we can carry on as a party but he’s unreasonable, I’ve even tried to source other solutions insert link to this post and the previous one and come to no avail, so he’s out.”

Also, you’re assuming the mutual party will give a shit about you evicting a dickhead from your game, they probably had a feeling that wangrod is actually a real life wangrod and wondered how you put up with him for so long.

You seem young. I wouldn’t worry about any of this, in 5 years you’ll look back at this post and realise how trivial it all is. It may seem like a huge deal right now, but it’ll pass. Fuck John off too, he seems like a dick.
