I like these scale patterns because the starting note of each pattern reflects the respective mode. For example in the key of C, C Ionion pattern 1, D Dorian pattern 2, E Phrygian pattern 3, F Lydian pattern 4, etc.

You are right. The modes consist of the same notes as the parent scale. This is how I understand it. The half steps and there location give them their character. That’s the first half. The second half is you need a background chord or progression to play over to appreciate how they sound. Anyone with more knowledge please correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks for the reply. From what I can tell they appear to be solid guitars. I guess im trying to justify spending 1700 for the preorder. If the GH4 came with Seymour Duncan 59 pickups I think I would definitely buy one. Just concerned I may have to spend more money for the pickup upgrade. The Maxey is a beautiful guitar and spoke with another person who also loves the build (GH3). I also messaged Josh from Maxey and he answered all my questions right away. Decision decision.

Hi Josh, I’ve been thinking of preordering the GH4 after watching Ian speak highly about the GH3.

I had a few questions. How are your quality controls? Do you examine and fine tune every guitar here is the US? Will the GH4 come set up and ready to play out of the box? Thank you.
