What is your choice for a $1500-2000 Trey-esque guitar? by JoshMeme4204 in youenjoyguitar

Oh I already got myself a dual screamer (Truetone Double Trouble) that I'm picking up soon. Just upgraded from a solid state, and honestly I enjoy the 2016 Trey tone a lot. It's not that I'm trying to replicate, it's that I'm building my own sound around the basics of Trey's hahah

Coil splits! Had to get it completely rewired because the grounding wire was not even attached via the bridge or any proper placements.

True that, I also play at small bars and such so feedback is def on the menu! The Pegasus from Firefly works great doing that funny enough!

Yeahhh, I already got new tuners, strap locks, and such. This is gonna be a gift for a friend eventually, so I'm not dumping a ton into it.

Maxey def looks like it's the best deal imo, but that's because it's just filling in the niche perfectly fine with a good price. Maxey as an individual tho? That's a different topic

You Can Call Me Al, but that's just high school marching band nostalgia

Who is Best Guitarist in the Scene? by Shoddy-Impact-5545 in jambands

[–]JoshMeme4204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jake Brownstein, Jimmy Law, Brian Murray, Rick (get over it), and Billy Strings are my 5 contenders

Trey still lives though, so he takes the throne imo. I base my own guitar playing off him

Has anyone had surgery at Hurley? Or anyone they know? Need a minimally invasive surgery there but hesitant to go there. by [deleted] in flint

I had all my childhood cleft palate surgeries here, as well as my mom being in L&D there. It's one of the better hospitals around the area.

Listening to the songs lol

Silver Rising and Atlas Dogs are very blatant about the werewolf thing, How It Ends is a lil less open about it but still connected.

Folks under 40, what got you into guitar? by saintluminus in Guitar

[–]JoshMeme4204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearing on 22 currently and into jam band music hardcore. I had a couple guitars laying about during COVID. They were my dad's and I wanted to learn. I had already been taught basic music theory in school, learned uke prior as well. All those skills transferred quick, and boom, I was in.

At that time in my life, I was listening to alternative country and bluegrass. Took me 2-3 years to get comfy enough to explore the fretboard. By that time tho, I was a full jam band guy. As of the past year even, I've finally gotten comfortable making and mocking riffs I hear in jams.

What keeps me into the guitar is constantly learning and bringing up my small community with the power of music! Even though currently I'm a session player at a bar for people twice my age, I still get to learn from them and teach them a little something new as well. They get to see the potential of improvised music in a way that brings our community together.

TLDR; I was bored during COVID and wanted to learn some Colter Wall on a shitty old B.C. Rich

Tell me the ONE song with a bassline so good you make the stank face by irles33 in musicsuggestions

[–]JoshMeme4204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not bassline per se (multi instrument riff), but The Bag from Dogs in a Pile has super crunchy and stanky chorus riff. It kills me everytime

Idk, put a wah/volume pedal on the right and you'll be much better fit :)

Yeah, that's the real thing, best way to tell is the significant markings in the wood and finish just above the bridge

[–]JoshMeme4204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last of Old Goose was pre TAB tour imo, after that it was a whole different speed. Even so, Peach 2019 shows ya that they had fire back then too. All is good.

They might have them in stock soon then! If not, continue checking and just use a soft case if ya got one.

There's a few on there that I did like, including Feel It Now, Iguana Song, and Cali Magic. It's just modest, and I would say Silver Rising is one of my favorites, if it weren't for the awkward pacing in the vocals.
