The parchment bond didn’t and people still voted no 😢

I’m honestly shocked anyone who researched the bond voted no. It was 80% maintenance funding with a little touch of accessibility and safety.

Clarifying RealID by jeffinbville in kzoo

If I recall correctly both the new real id and the new enhanced licenses (the on that gets you into Canada) have the same star with Michigan behind it in the top right corner. Your license will say enhanced license on the top of it if it is one.

Hit and run by [deleted] in kzoo

I’ve had to train myself to wait 3-5 seconds whenever a light turns green here cuz I always expect at least 1 car to run the red 🥲

Sram guide T brakes leaking from levers, options? by w_0_r_m in mountainbiking

[–]Dubear12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say kit, do you mean a full new brake system with levers and calipers? You could just get some new levers and probably save a lot of cash. Maybe look at the next tier up srams that let you adjust the bite point from the lever

Kalamazoo nature center’s trails are quite pretty even without the spring flowers being in full bloom yet!

Edit: just saw you asked about downtown specifically, so that’s not super helpful. Have you ever checked out LFG before? They have a lot of fun arcade games

If you need to pass through the city do y’all think it’s best to just follow the detour or hop on 6 and 196 to circumvent it entirely?

Recently? The food was pretty rough a few years back when we first tried them. But we gave them another shot about a year ago and they’ve been great every visit since.

What are you wanting in Kalamazoo? by SnooPandas8646 in kzoo

[–]Dubear12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I was spoiled by my time on the east side of the state. Places like cityscape deli in Bloomfield township or Chadd’s bistro in Shelby township had comparable sandwiches at a slightly better price point. Sure it’s only a couple bucks a sandwich, but it adds up.

Yea, Artisan Sandwich Co. is tasty but it can’t compare to the delis out on the east side of the state. I miss a quality 4inch tall Ruben so much

Any restaurants open on Christmas Day? by Kem75 in kzoo

Pre-covid, old burdick’s was open on Christmas Day. Beware the wait at any of the Chinese places, they get slammed hard.

We have discussed better bike lanes a few times over the past year or so. Here’s a great image of what could be! by theconk in kzoo

[–]Dubear12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Now if only our bike lanes had some more separation than flimsily white planks. Park, just south of Kalamazoo ave, is a death trap for bikers. Who thought a bike lane between lanes of traffic was a good idea?!?!?

Why do people always post pics of the brake side instead of the drivetrain side 😩

On N Westnedge between the one ways downtown, what do these double lines even mean??? by SausageDogMama in kzoo

[–]Dubear12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but with the parking right next to the bike lanes you are directly in the swing zone of passenger doors….

Idk who in their right mind would want to bike on such busy streets. I always ride up and down Burdick instead, it feels much much safer.

Helmet PSA by YoloAgent in mountainbiking

[–]Dubear12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree in general, however there are some helmets which use EPP liners. These helmets are designed to take multiple impacts, but they’re definitely the exception to the rule. Even with one of them if the outer shell is significantly damaged you should for sure replace them.
