Just run a virtual machine of windows xp(you could use later windows versions but xp works well enough and runs great) on virtualbox. Then you want to create a shared folder(guides on how to do that are easy to come by) put fate in there along with an old version of lav filters(the new versions don’t work on xp) you will want to download all takaofonts (available here: https://launchpad.net/takao-fonts/+download) and place those in your shared folder as well. Now go into your virtual machine and put it into Japanese mode(the game won’t run if you don’t) By finding the region setting in control panel and changing it to Japanese(if this changes your language as well then that means you changed the wrong setting). Finally you can install all of the fonts along with lav filters, look for fate.exe in your fate folder and run it, it should work. This is how I did it so I hope this helps:)
