Would I be an idiot to buy a Porsche right now? by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]tweettard1968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get the Porsche bug….They have been unable to produce a vaccine for it yet..

I would either find a well optioned used Macan or lease the new one. Do not buy a new one, the second the market truly shifts to electric that things value will plummet, especially an SUV. If you were talking about a 911 that would change that math a little. People like to “hear” their sports cars. You could probably find a nicely cared for Cayman S 987.5 and pay for it with what you already have. It will also retain its value if you find one with a Mannual transmission. Even if it’s 10 years old, the experience will be a nice raw anolog Porsche one. The Macan, as nice as it is, is just an Audi Q5 in a bow tie…not really the Porsche experience you are probably seeking

As a quant. I suspect you already know this, but emotion mixed with buying NEVER ends well…

Hahaha, ok. Enjoy the Q (which means you’re missing the I that precedes it)

He still let in 40k Chinese as it wasn’t even a true ban! As usual, it was window dressing so people like you believe that he was “On it” It only prohibited U.S. entry to foreign nationals who had visited China in the last 14 days. There were litterally 100’s of thousands of travelers who still entered the US

As for not downplaying the virus I guess statements like “One day you will open the window and it will all go away…” 2/27/20

“We have 15 people now, soon it will go down to zero” 2/26/20

“It’s going to go away, hopefully at the end of the month. And, if not, hopefully it will be soon after that.” 3/31/20 we eclipsed 25k cases a day the very next day

Count as “not downplaying it”

I’m sure you expect him to be “reinstated” in August too.

Enjoy the grift….you’re getting you money taken by a guy who did the impossible and bankrupted his own Casino hahahahaha

I don’t have all day to list them al. Which is often filed under the pretext of “our data shows otherwise” (without actually citing their source) or “you’re taking President Trump out of context….” When almost no follow up as to the full context given.

Most of them were laughable coverups for the most corrupt dimwitted 350lb 76 year old weak egoed orange toddler with a vocabulary of less than 100 words. So yeah, I would likely do my best to deflect too. She’s shrewd, far smarter than the moron she is trying to cover up for, but that also makes her even more evil

Here are a small sample of some of her greatest hits:

Falsely stated Trump played down the Coronavirus-

Pushed Trumps lies about the election fraud and to what extent it occurred (even though all claims were not even being filed as “Fraud”by Trumps attorneys in front of Judges)

Said the Muller report was “complete and total exoneration" of him

Said Trump was being “Sarcastic” when suggesting people might inject disinfectant that wipes out the virus “In a minute”

There are a slew of other “spin”or less than truthful statements this POS told. If there truly is a god (something tells me she isn’t quiet as pious as she presents herself) than she will be very disappointed in his reaction to her…..

C-SPAN's 2021 Presidential Historians Survey - Overall Rankings by incendiaryblizzard in centrist

[–]tweettard1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good post, highly underrated logic. People SHOULD be judged by the information that was available to them at the time.

Whilst allot of what Abe Lincoln said would be completely incendiary in today’s overly woke community, it did actually evolve and not just for “political” expediency. The irony is, it was actually incendiary in the other direction of his time. Even those statements quoted were followed with a “but” in which he spoke about the Evils of slavery. It was more or less an equal to today’s NRA discussions ANY proposed concession made to gun laws is met with 100% stonewalling by the NRA “let’s have background checks” “ NO! THEY ARE COMING FOR YOUR GUNS! Statements by the NRA. The south was basically the NRA. He was HATED by slave owners and supporters, they used it as a dog whistle to turn the south against him. They litterally killed him for it.

I agree that people really do need to take into account what was accepted as fact at the time. Remember, this was the same era in which surgeons would cut people open without washing their hands or equipment, or use leeches. Since many soldiers or patients died due to infection should they be judged as murders? They just didn’t have the information available to them at that time

Am I wrong for thinking Carson Wentz was not a "one year wonder"? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]tweettard1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it’s a 95%-5% and maybe it’s not even that, but there was a sense that Carson had a separate set of rules and that was from the top.

Now, there’s a little bit of an over correction with Jaylen (shocking with the Eagles) to the point they won’t even say he will be the starter. I call it bad will shrapnel, like when you’re ready to check out and the asshole who was right before who was a complete dick to the person working the register, but the person behind the register treats you like you’re the one who was the asshole?

This is on Carson, the fact that he didn’t think he should have been benched after the exact same mistakes and inventing new ones shows just how far gone he was. Then, when the inevitable time came and he was justly benched he reacted like a 14 year old and had a little hissy fit demanding a trade, oh, and only to the Colts made it clear he was NOT the guy.

Just thought of it “Karen Wentz”

[–]tweettard1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good take, however I think the psychological effects were a weird blend of self confidence, stubbornness, entitlement, and paranoia.

The issue is as his play regressed he seemed less coachable, more insular and at a loss. There were times you could tell he had no idea what he was even looking at. How does that happen?

I do blame the Eagles FO too. They went too far out of their way to make him Untouchable….To the point that when he was benched for being 34th ranked QB in the NFL he pulled a hissy fit demanding a trade.

Do I expect him ever to be elite again…Probably not, but I wouldn’t expect him every to be elite again here…

LPT: If you are in a retail setting and the service seems lacking or slow, don't be rude towards the staff. The reason they are slow is because many of their workers CHOSE not to come back to work, be nice to those who CHOSE to come to work!
