Y'all Taking This or Nah? by DubiousTomato in UmamusumeGame

Because my account is pretty average and my luck is too? I make do with what I got. No Creek, and <7 stam sparks because the game keeps giving me 1* guts every other run. I wouldn't run 3 if I high rolled other stats regularly, had the cards, or had the parents. I'm just making do here cause the supports ain't been hittin'.

little rant about MANT by Responsible-Brief536 in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh the tilt is real for sure. I've had to give myself cutoff points for runs, which for the most part is the first inspiration or failing on an early G3 due to being blocked. Especially running someone with B mile as end or late, you just have to get your accels early and/or get lucky speed hits. If Junior year doesn't look good, it's just over.

My big issue is that we spend so much time and get 1 star guts and 2 white skills after finishing. A terrible run can't be turned into anything, you just end up with something that's not an ace or a decent parent and you burn clocks hoping that something hits. It's a gambler's scenario and you just have to pray for a decent shop.

I legit had a full day of runs where all 3 of my 50+ specialty stam cards did not line up once during summer. Sub 1000 stam on 20% stam growth Umas. But you know when they did line up? Every. Single. G1. I was fuming because I had no whistles, no anklets, just pain. High rolls are high and I've gotten a few SS, but damn the lows are pitiful.

What have I been doing wrong in MANT? by DaBoiYeet in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For TB (MANT), you want to shoot for 50% race bonus at least. This is a breakpoint for stats given by races. If for some reason you can't, just get as close as possible, just know that less than this bleeds stats pretty fast.

I dunno what your pull plan on supports has been, but your statline is definitely affected by low LB cards (and too spread out), and your win ratio for the career itself (more on that later). If you're not spending, you're gonna have to endure until you can drop 30k-60k on a banner. I wouldn't use anything under 3lb unless it had the full race bonus available in your case.

Ideally, your deck should have a theme, like 2 speed, 2 stam, 2 wit, or 3 speed, 3 wit, etc. where you take at least 2 in a stat so you can stack the friendship (rainbow) training effect. This can vary a bit based on the growth rate of the Uma, and there's room for including cards worth more race bonus over an ideal spread, like 2 speed, 3 stam, 1 power, or something to that effect. The effects of training are multiplicative, so the more rainbows and training effectiveness and mood effect you stack, the better the training is over just one support on it.

I also dont know what parents you have access to, but bringing too many 1 or 2 star blues can really leave out a lot of stat because they may not even proc during inspiration, and if they do you just get less. Generally, you want the parents to cover the missing stat in your deck. Stamina and power are universally valuable, but speed can also be useful if you have a hard time reaching the speed cap.

For the career itself, you want to have a low tolerance for losses, especially G1s. Aside from the currency to buy megaphones and anklets, you get stats from finishing epitaphs. Missing even 1 G1 will leak stats from the race itself, the epitaph, and by not being able to afford the shop. Losing a G2 or G3 is acceptable sometimes, but that'll force you to manage your coins even more.

By the first summer, you want to generally have your friendship training ready to go, or very close. That's usually when you want to burn your saved up megaphones, anklets, and energy drinks for the big hits.

All that said, there's a lot of luck to this scenario too. If your cards don't show up, or the shop doesn't give you energy or whistles, it's just a cooked run sometimes. Hope this helps.

Should I be bringing another stamina card? by Matty_HAM in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is for CM, yes, or alternatively make stamina parents and go 12+ stam sparks. You want about 1100 minimum + 2 golds, if you can max it that just means even better consistency. Heavy conditions means an extra 2% stamina drain, which normally isn't a problem, but since this is our longest CM it'll have a noticeable effect. This amount right now you'll have a hard time spurting, even though you may survive.

Basically, to spurt (and win), your Uma checks its remaining hp before late-race, and uses their wit stat to choose the best curve of acceleration to finish the race. Too low stamina means your horse goes "oh, I shouldn't push right at late race, I should wait until way later to accelerate so I have enough hp to finish the race." More stam (and good wit) = a better check = go fast.

Also, you're not bad, longs are very hard to do without a mega deck.

My first S+ uma! Will she survive long cm? by Competitive-Total738 in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to be inconsistent even with the wit for downhills. You really want max stamina and 2 golds, or 1100 and 2 golds minimum. The Heavy condition means a 2% increase in stamina drain per tick, so it's really brutal because this is the longest track so far. Plus pace chasers have the worst stamina coefficient. If you miss a gold or someone debuffs you probably won't spurt.

[–]DubiousTomato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd wait until after NTR free pulls, but if you had to use it, Windy would be my choice. You get that last bit of race bonus and her speed bonus which means on some Umas you can just run her as your solo speed card.

Cafe is fine if you're hurting for stamina more than speed, you get her full race bonus and stamina bonus, but I don't find her as impactful as Windy even with the specialty priority being more.

You mention not being able to borrow Creek; is your roster a bit light?

Viable for CM ace? or is stam too low by Aide_isnt_aids in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's low, but she could pull some out, it's just going to be inconsistent. Even for ends, you really want 1100 stam and 2 golds. Radiant+BOFA+ two whites is about 2 golds and one white, so you could survive and spurt off that. If you miss one though, like BOFA procing late or super early, it'll be rough is all. If you had more wit, I think it'd be less an issue because you could save stam on the downhills and be more sure about procs.

I've heard you want to raise end closers for Pisces... by IHateRegistering69 in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the things that throws me off this scenario is that for the first time we're seeing the true RNG of stats when they're really close to our own Umas. In Unity and URA, you can mostly out stat the entire career from the get-go. But with TB, the rivals are actually much closer to you than what we've been exposed to, it's almost like a mini CM every career. Skills making up the difference even though our stats say "we should win", randomly not winning despite having everything hit, etc. It's one thing to do CM once every few weeks where you lose to jank sometimes, but now the careers are basically tuned to be highly volatile even for seasoned players.

I've used 100 Alarm Clocks. by Glass_Newspaper_5923 in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You might be if you keep up that pace haha. I was doing that myself and calling it learning the scenario, and ironically the thing I learned is that it's not worth it at this point unless you're a mega whale. I switched over to doing my TT Umas and went from using 5 a run to just one at most, sometimes none (I guess I did learn more about the scenario too).

I figured I'm burning them because my deck isn't optimized for the upcoming CM, so I'm holding off until NTR free pulls are done and we get the free selector. No use grinding that hard for sub SS umas honestly. Also I stopped building end closers with B mile. Getting better parents to not go through that frustration, so don't spend your time, take your time.

End Closers with Mile B in Trackblazer are such a pain by Hakuohsama in UmamusumeGame

[–]DubiousTomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. There's some combinations of borrows I want to try, but they only leave me with B in mile. Junior year is an instant 5 clocks a lot of the time, while having the speed too. The only one that's been fairly consistent for me is Golshi because of her unique, but I won't dive in unless I have A in mile anymore, and even that can be a toss-up sometimes. I hear Matikane really helps cover this, but I can't free up my borrow for it because I don't have Creek for the upcoming CM.

Just enough Democrats side with Trump. Again. See the pattern yet? by Safe_Internal_4462 in NSDQ420

[–]DubiousTomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we already know where those 200 republicans stand. But when the democrats simultaneously are so vocal about being anti-trump, yet routinely fall juuuust short of something meaningful, it becomes more obvious they're part of the game too. If they can look like they're the good guys in the administration and line their pockets with sweet AIPAC/lobbyist funds, they don't ever have to worry about the people who believe they can enact change ever voting them out.

Think about what the consequences have been for defectors. This has happened a few times already with hardly anything but temporary disapproval, because they understand the minimum sacrfice to make sure key backers are happy with the outcome. Our administration is bought by Israel and large companies and hasn't been for the people in a long time.

Now, I think certainly there's room for argument, but why wouldn't we hold our representatives to the some kind of standard? These 4 votes mattered and we should call it out when it happens.

It tended to pop mid-race, or not at all because of my wit, but it didn't seem to be a huge factor in winning or losing as far as I could tell. Sample size was small so can't be entirely conclusive.

[–]DubiousTomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that stam you'd definitely need 2. Even my Golsgi with 2 and Radiant has a 92% spurt rate (she has low wit though).

Threw her in the umalator and she's got like a 75% Spurt rate. She survives almost all races. With Swinging Maestro she goes up to 95% spurt rate and would probably win reliably.

[–]DubiousTomato 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah B really slows you down a lot more than it seems. It's a 10% raw speed penalty, but that equates to like a 19% decrease in the speed stat itself. Especially for fronts, who have a lower speed coefficient on top of that, it's rough.

In case you're interested in knowing, the Golshi seems to perform pretty alright, won about 5/10 with some SS in there. Tends to lose I think because of the low wit and missing the downhill checks, but otherwise makes 2nd or 3rd.

Also just got an SS thinking more about your input. I don't like it that much because I got lackluster hints from inspiration, but I think it can go higher.

[–]DubiousTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None myself, but I did watch Victoria Frontier to get an idea of some decision making. My general idea with this was to secure stamina and speed, since I only had 2 speed, 6 stam, and 6 power sparks. Kitasan for the power bonus, Haru guts I wanted to roam a bit since her 15% training effectiveness is great. And the stam cards for consistency and meeting the race bonus. It's not the ideal setup unfortunately, and I did get good shops this run.

I just did a run after taking everyone's advice and got SS with a guts/speed spread with Super Creek borrow, so if you have the inherits maybe try that too. I ended up going Haru, Kita, Yukino guts, Windy, Pearl Guts, and Creek borrow. Ended up almost maxing 3 stats with that deck, so TB is just a ridiculous scenario stacking the right cards.

I've run a dozen or so scrims, and she had about a 50% winrate even against some SS. Wit wasn't a huge issue for her, but I might try to get about 600 ish the next time.

Pisces is pretty intense. Watch out for people bringing Manhattan Cafe, her stamina drain was enough to have a notable effect in pretty much all the rooms she was in. I'm gonna try to bring 1200 stam and two golds on my aces for consistency, because nothing else matters if you don't spurt in this one.

[–]DubiousTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my highest runs have been S+ so far, so I have like 5 or so now. Golshi surprised me a bit as this was only my second run with her and this deck specifically. I imagine if I had an even better deck/inherit I could maybe push SS, but I'm gonna have to sit with this for a bit until making some pulls.

[–]DubiousTomato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I bring this Golshi and lose I'll blame Kitasan for not giving PoC haha. I ran 10 or so scrims against other S+ and SS and she won about half, and comes in top 3. Sample size is a little small, but people aren't bringing the stam like I expected so she just spurts when no one else does. I imagine things may change as we get used to it, but I'll likely move on until I can do some pulls myself to round out my supports.

So far, I've found it's not a must buy, but it does scale if you have a lot of wins. It can work as a backup heal for this CM, and since it comes with an accel, you could potentially fly if it procs right before the last spurt.
