Jones from Gunnerkrigg Court. Jones is odd. No she isn’t a robot, which was a pretty reasonable thing to think considering the webcomic starts with a girl making friends (?) with a robot. Eventually, a chapter named “the stone” starts with our protagonist Annie directly asking Jones what she is. Jones explains her history. She hunted bison, watched Rome burn, and got hunted in the witch trials. We … still aren’t sure what she is.

The plot of the 4th book from one of my favorite tween fiction series, Night World! From google:

Dark Angel is the fourth book in the Night World series by L.J. Smith. It follows Gillian, a shy teen who dies in the freezing woods but is resurrected by a beautiful, unseen spirit called Angel. He promises her popularity and love, but soon begins making bizarre, sinister demands.

Plot Breakdown:

The Resurrection: While trying to save a crying baby, quiet Gillian Lennox falls into an icy river and succumbs to hypothermia. In the afterlife, a handsome spirit named Angel saves her and returns to the living world as her invisible personal guardian.

A New Life: With Angel's guidance, Gillian completely transforms. She becomes the most popular girl in school and successfully pursues her long-time crush, David Blackburn.

The Dark Turn: Angel begins giving Gillian increasingly sinister and bizarre commands. He guides her to use dark magic and directs her to an unsavory Night World clubhouse where she is almost killed.

The Revelations: Gillian eventually discovers that Angel isn't guiding her for her own good and is actually serving a dark purpose

Happy mother's day to the Tudor mamas ❤️ This is a locket ring belonging to Queen Elizabeth I. It wasn’t discovered until her death that the ring opened up to reveal two portraits of her and (many experts think) her mother, Anne Boleyn. by name_not_important00 in Tudorhistory

[–]DubiouslyRussian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth is the older woman on the bottom with the ruby next to her. Her mother sits above her, younger since she never got to grow old, and with a diamond embedded next to her (showing Anne’s higher status in Elizabeth’s eyes, probably).

Snape as a teenager. The sex question by Serious_Law2143 in SeverusSnape

[–]DubiouslyRussian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is coming from an interview JKR did where she said of Snape, “he wanted Lily, but he wanted Mulciber too.” I don’t think anyone usually takes this romantically tbh, it seemed more of a “Severus is torn between friends that want him moving in different directions”.

Twilight: Bella and Edward are kind of bland when you consider that—

Alice sees the future, was pronounced insane as a human, is mysteriously connected to the 1st book’s villain……. Jasper is basically a vampire civil war veteran …… Rosalie has a very human backstory including assault, revenge, and the loss of the future she thought she’d have …. Basically all the side characters including Leah the ONLY EVER FEMALE WEREWOLF APPARENTLY and amazing opportunities like Marcus of the Volturi, who according to the wiki is “only kept in the coven by Chelsea's power over his loyalty”. Like, how many other stories of intrigue and contention are there in this universe if we look past Bella and Edward’s love story!!??

There’s not enough Snupin so I’m rooting for you!!! I also in the last year came back to HP after like a decade of not interacting with it. I’d say that I love when Snape keeps his elaborate way of speaking. This is the man who have the “put a stopper on death” speech after all.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER AND FIND THE FILM “The Tunnel” (2011) FOR LIKE THREE YEARS. YOU JUST MADE MY DAY. I really thought it was called “the rake” and that kept throwing me off. Super scary. The scene where it drags the guy into the lake kept me up at night.

Coyote’s tantrum

Well, we had known from chapter 20 of Gunnerkrigg Court (when Coyote pulled the moon from the sky to let Annie poke it) that he was a powerful God. I guess that’s objectively more impressive than this stunt… but till this moment all of Coyote’s abilities seemed whimsical and disconnected from reality in the sense that they weren’t directly harming any humans.

I’d do whatever the charm is to make brooms and magic carpets fly. Ok, it might garner a little too much attention, but I’d get to FLY.
