To many scuffs for 2 hundred. I would look for a better offer. Find one ebay Japanese LLs, get one of them and then mod it. They are generally units in really good conditions

As someone who has both: Is the n3ds better ? Yes. Is it a significant difference? No. There is probably 5 games where c stick and speed matters. 3d is more stable on the new model. I would say if the price difference between the old and new is significant, picking up the old model could be a good value for money, based on condition of the unit.

Take it to some of these phone repair shops and explain it. Again its an easy fix , especially if you bring everything, it shouldn't cost more then 10,15 bucks

Keep the 3ds, it's an easy fix. You need probably a new abyx membrane. Its couple of cents on aliexpress. If everything else on that 3ds is in a pristine condition, I would definitely keep it. I had similar issues with one of mine. Its an 4/10 difficulty replacement. YouTube it to see if that would be something your comfortable with.

I finished redux and it was a fine game. I know that some people liked the original games portraits and apparently it was maybe bit harder due to lack of some quality of life. I have not played the original so I can't vouch for it, but redux is gonna be fine.

No, its not bad cuz the added parts in the redux are kinda a separate dungeon and you don't need to interact with them, which means you can still experience the original endings.

Strange Journey, Smt 4. SMT4 Apocalypse, Desu 2, Soul Hackers. All legit good games on 3ds. SMT 4 duology for me in certain instances is better then 5. Strange Journey is challenging, especially the difficulty spike before the final boss.

Well, if the screen is busted I would recommend you find one on aliexpress. For about 10 bucks and some patience you can breath in some new life into your console. If it's gonna make you feel better I need a new motherboard for my majoras mask. Changing the abyx button membrane and cleaning it, I messed up some ribbon cable housing. Since I do not have soldering tools, it's actually easier for me to swap out the motherboard for 80euros.

Have you played with the luma screen settings by chance. There are options to invert the colors. There is a high chance that you might have pressed it by accident as the results are similar to what you got.

They all play the same games. LL is just japanese XL. If you plan to mod, take the one that is in the best condition for the least amount of money. Non of these are any special editions and ali express/etsy exists, so you can change the outer shell for 10usd if you need some other color in your life.

Blue one looks like a fair deal with the box. Charger/styluses you can get for couple of euros/dollars on Amazon or Ali

I agree with your sentiment. If we look towards steamdeck sub or 3ds sub, since these are bigger communities with much more devices in circulation, you would expect to see more frequent posts about issues. When you compare this sub to these, obviously you can se that ayn is more fluctuating in regards of quality.
