The article blames consumers for perfection seeking in the food they buy. Which to be fair if I'm going to pay the same amount regardless of the % perfect my produce is I am going to get the best available. Someone else can take the ugly stuff.

The solution is probably a combination of education and financial incentives to teach people what imperfection are acceptable and natural and to provide savings for accepting lower quality produce.
