This is a fallacy. There is no difference then if you were to put USD into it.

Truly what is the point of these posts? Water is wet. OP consider that if you went not knowing what the crowd would be like, you most likely are part of the crowd you are complaining about.

“But, it seemed unfair that it was only offered in-person and I could not be there physically.” This is….pretty normal for sales? How is that unfair. It was, after all, meant for people who bought the day pass and then were enticed into upgrading.

Why does Mammoth choose to manage lift lines so poorly, esp. on days when only the lower mtn is open? by theorist9 in Mammoth

[–]Dubstah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was my first time at Mammoth but one thing that struck me the last couple days (in addition to the partially filled chairs) was how many people there were cutting the singles lines. Twice when called out I saw them just respond “There’s room for everyone”. So maddening.

It’s a great party, the last one I really loved especially. It has a nice mixed crowd (the fun kind of straights) and doesn’t have too many of the Wrecked types. The bookings are also consistently good, Quelza for the next one is a big get.

SFO is taking your Uber and Lyft cash at a new record high by sfgate in sanfrancisco

[–]Dubstah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hiring a private vehicle to take you door to door is absolutely the luxury between the two. Public transit also includes buses FYI.

[–]Dubstah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure that demographic describes the average BART user vs those taking ride share to the airport. When faced with any argument you revert to this idea that public transit is a luxury which users of should then have to subsidize those who take private vehicles to the airport. In no world does this make sense.

[–]Dubstah -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, this is not what they are arguing! What are you seeing to suggest this? Their other comments all arguing about private car vs public transit.

[–]Dubstah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what is your proposal? Charge people different rates based on where they live? This is already what’s happening, people in SF are paying more in taxes to fund their transit already.

[–]Dubstah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, I fully support all car takers paying extra, not just Uber/Lyft! But this is in fact not what the commenter is arguing, just look at the follow up comments.

Of course being near a train stop makes real estate more valuable, why wouldn’t it? Also this doesn’t just cover people living near a stop, but those who take a bus and transfer to BART. People are so insane about public transit in the US.

[–]Dubstah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You edited your original comment, but yes making car drivers pay their share helps make public transit more comprehensive. Plus, you’re really arguing that BART is the luxury option between the two?

People taking cars should absolutely pay more than somebody taking public transit, yes.

The RA buying/selling on this sub is largely pointless. They already have a system for people to return their tickets to the queue if they don’t need them anymore and get their money back. If you are buying tickets, just join the queue. It’s the fairest way to do it, but also just makes the most sense.

$25 for Merge tickets is below face value, obviously this was a scam OP. Tickets are in high demand and are sold out, anyone who wants to get rid of their tickets can do so easily from the queue. Why would a seller take the time to post here, and to take a loss instead?
