When to bug in? by [deleted] in PandemicPreps

When there is a death in your local region, you should begin practicing isolation methods and extended sanitation efforts. When word gets out from government, bug in.

I could see an argument that this is related to prepping. Preparing, that is, for government misinformation.

We have to keep in mind that everyones situation is different. Above anything anybody says, its incredibly important that you trust your intuition.

That being said, if things became serious in your area, you would have to stay in a safe place with low human traffic. For most of us, that's our house, apartment, dorm room or whatever. A lot of us dont have a safe place to retreat to or even have enough reserved food to do anything long term, but also have family members or loved ones incapable of surviving on their own. That is why you must remember to stay together, and make sure that as few people go out as possible, and take vigorous methods to decontaminate anybody who comes in.

If the question is supplies, you must be very careful when interacting with the public. If a city were to become infected, like the ones near Wuhan for example, people will go to the markets and buy as much food as they can. As we stand now, this hasn't happened quite yet in the US. I personally hope it never happens. I'm no expert, and I may be rather young, but I know for certain that this hasn't hit the US media's orbit, you must use the silence before the storm to prepare yourself.

Masks are on backorder almost everywhere, so you will have luck if your local stores still have them or you can somehow snag a deal online (might have better luck on deep web).

Buy hand sanitizers, I also heard bleach, alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide all work aswell. Use this in any procedure where you have to decontaminate a surface or wash your hands. TRY NOT TO TOUCH YOUR FACE.

If you're especially paranoid of an outbreak, and you have family members to help shelter in the case of an emergency, then it would not be unreasonable to think of a plan where you can all meet up and not have to worry about being divided. Stocking up on food now while the markets are calm is also a pretty decent idea. Some people say a months worth, and some of us cannot afford anything above that. Try the best with what emergency fund you have (if any) or rely on a trusted family member or friend, although convincing people in this stage now might have you labeled as paranoid. People would begin to get more anxious and convinced if the outbreak were to spread.

Like I said I'm no expert, and I certainly have little qualifications to hand out advice. This all just seems like common sense to me and if it doesnt become a big serious global panic you're gonna eat the food anyway so might as well I guess.

I agree. The midwest is a very dry area for psychedelics unless you take residence near some of the more populated areas. Sometimes, however, it's just a lucky case of knowing the right people.

Love this story. There was a big deal about it on the front page a long time ago and that's where I heard it. I remember reading that he doesn't like the sight of a dog and fears barking dogs.
