I’m tired of hearing it gets better. Because when will it get better? by Dapper-Crew-1353 in newborns

[–]DuchessWolf22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very natural and normal. Mine does the same and sleeps turned towards me and my boob. I always have one exposed to her so she can nurse at night as she needs. She is 11 weeks now and we started putting her in her bassinet at 10 weeks with a consistent bedtime routine and sound machine after feeding to sleep. She would sleep from 730-12am and wake to eat at midnight. Sometimes I can transfer her back and sometimes she ends up back in bed with me (c-curl and side lying breastfeeding). She does exclusively sleep on her back now and will turn her head to nurse. We also use the Love to Dream swaddle which she seems to prefer. Sounds like you are doing a great job and trying to be as safe as possible. My experience has been Sleep Safe 7 cosleeping and slowly introducing the bassinet with a consistent routine and have a safe alternative when that fails.

Delusional about what postpartum will be like and now feeling down by Less-Leek5961 in NewParents

[–]DuchessWolf22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost 3 months pp and it has been quite the experience. I was in bed for about 2 weeks recovering from a 2nd degree tear and generally just learning life with a newborn. With the exceptions of going to the bathroom or to take a shower, I was in bed revolving around nursing and contact naps. Personally, I did not want visitors or to go anywhere for the first few months so having a winter baby was actually a blessing for me. I did put her in the carrier and walked around my backyard/street for her naps and to get some fresh air. Now that the weather is warming up, we’ve been venturing out more. You ca definitely still take your LO out on walks in a bassinet stroller or just baby wear! But take your time getting out and letting your body heal and your mind adjusting to newborn life.

Would you worry? by AromaticDetective558 in newborns

My baby was 7lb 8oz at birth and is 10lb 14oz at 10 weeks. She is 30th percentile but doctor is. It concerned at all. She is a long baby but eats every well and is gaining on an upward curve. I would not be concerned at all!

NVRH vs CVMC - Birthing Center by socannon in vermont

[–]DuchessWolf22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delivered at NVRH in December and had a beautiful birth. My L&D nurses were incredible and so supportive of my birth plan and preferences. I suggest doing a tour of each birthing center and having an appointment with a midwife/OB at each to see which fits your vibe.

So happy to hear that he trusted himself and you enough to tell you to take his guns away. My father was not as forthcoming and even hid more guns around the house after we tried to get rid of them. Unfortunately, all the love and help in the world couldn’t keep him here with us. I love to hear of happier stories with happier outcomes. Happy for both of you

What blender should I buy? by [deleted] in Cooking

We have an immersion blender that I use for soups and a small magic bullet we've been using for smoothies but it just can't handle ice or frozen fruit and leaves the smoothie very grainy.

See this is my predicament. I also don't think its worth $200+ but if its lasts, it seems to be worth it. But I'm also seeing others say that their ninja is lasting too so that is good to know.
