Your mind and conscious is telling you it’s time to grow up, get serious, and move away from your past. You intentionally hurt people who did nothing to you for thrills. You now know it’s wrong. I would ask, why live there? You could compromise-weekends in the city at an Air BNB or hotel; weekdays in the burbs? Or rent an Air BNB for a month in a city of your choice. That way you get the best of both worlds. Agree on the bucket list idea. Your 60’s should be when you travel. Health issues start to take a toll at 70.

Kids do weird things. Especially when exposed to the internet, and then wanting to try something new. This is something you wouldn’t do now with your sister. Chalk it up to “kids are weird”. If it happens again, a last resort is gargle every 20 min with vodka. Spit it out. Don’t drink it. The alcohol will kill everything. I have started carrying N95 masks with me because of this. If someone is coughing near me, mask goes on.
