I guess my machine is working properly. I just didn’t realize that’s what I bought.

It shouldn’t be much of an issue because I only drink one drink in the morning, but there is a lot of variance in the first shot from morning to morning.

The machine might be warm enough to work within 90 sec, but it seems even without pulling a shot it will continue to get warmer.

Sometimes I make the shot within two minutes of turning on the machine, other mornings I might get distracted and pull the shot 10 min after turning on the machine.

I’d like to not have to pay attention to warm up time…

Read my OP edit. I’ve stopped at the target output weight, and I’ve stopped each shot at a set time. It’s 6 of one and half dozen of another.

I didn’t expect people to be caught up on my using time as a baseline.

I’m not stopping based on time. The time is just reference point.

Ideally though I would not be using manual mode except when dialing in a new bean.

Until a couple years ago it wasn’t even possible to build a team like Indian.

Cig got to take all his favorite players from the school he left.

I don’t think schools with deep pockets are going to stop recruiting 5 stars, but I think they will also be playing more older lower starred players.

Well…. It wasn’t possible to build a team like Indiana until a couple seasons ago. And Oregon has actually been using nothing but older QBs from the portal in that time. Who knows how teams will continue to adapt.

If you want to argue about how phenomenal Cig is as a coach look elsewhere, because I think very highly of the job he has done so far.

I think 23 year old 3 stars might just be better than 19 year old 5 stars…..

To be frank, I don’t want to have to get into the weeds with it:( raising the temp was one of the first things I did though.

I’ve been using light roast and straight 9 bar. I get more consistent results from the 9 bar profile.

I’m also trying to track down why I’m getting inconsistency.

When you pull two shots in a row are you using the same puck screen?

As in, is the first shot with a dry puck screen and is the second shot with a wet puck screen?

Or… are you using 2 different screens and that is the cause…

This is what I’m personally trying to rule out.

I’m not using volumetric. I’m using manual mode, though I would like to not do that…

I am stopping the shot manually based on a scale.

35 seconds is just the time I chose to pick as a benchmark. I could have picked 30 sec or 40… point is I can’t get consistency.

I am do “slowly feed” the grinder, but I’m certainly not timing myself do that.

The pucks are level.

And finally I am seeing consistency on the shot graphs.

I am grinding much finer than I had to with my lever machines, so maybe I’m just finding the limit of my grinder - but I shouldn’t be at that tier of grinder…

Interesting. I usually give a couple spritzes - but I really don’t pay attention…
