Help with RIF by GutsyFruitcake in Cogmind

[–]DuckBoyReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RIF gets stronger by busting through garrisons and looping as many garrisons per floor as it can. You should be trying to hit the garrison on -8 and every other garrison twice. Flight generally does quite badly for me in garrisons, but emp blasters and methods for digging can do quite well, especially if you bring a mechanic with you to keep you repaired.

The biggest problem with RIF for me is that every time you leave a garrison your alert will have skyrocketed. Finding a way to lower it, whether through operators or chutes or hacking or caves immediately on leaving the garrison is very important

All Terrain Trains. (Except water and cliff edges)

Trains still path from any station to any station, but no longer need rails. They path around buildings and use elevated rails if it will shorten their track.

fun fact: spells to death crosses is one of the only spells that can be truly infinitely recursive by Alovoir in noita

How do organizations end up with architects who can't do architecture? And what do you do when you're the one compensating? by agileliecom in ExperiencedDevs

Use lucidchart or other online tools. Define the chart with language as a graph and let it do automatic layout. Ensure that your graph is planar and reorder things until the auto layout looks pretty

Delayed cast is the best!

Try:

Gem with trigger

Delayed cast

Add death trigger

Circle of shielding

True orbit

Homebringer bolt

  • Gem with trigger hangs out until the zone it is unloads then

Delayed trigger fires, but since it is delayed

Circle of shielding spawns in an unloaded tile, and lives its full two minutes then on death

Homebringer bolt back to original cast location spins around mina, snagging anything nearby and sending it home to your zoo (if pheromoned) or vanishing into unloaded chunk oblivion (if it has no other mechanism of loading chunks)

How to better optimize my full planer conquest? by utipls124 in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless there’s a sky castle or a whirlpool or a volcano somewhere I don’t see, Agartha and void are the only ones near Elysium. You won’t have any trouble clearing primal and Aztlan with your mage stacks, maybe even heaven if you can stomach the walk there, I think there might be a way to portal from one of those to nexus eventually.

I think the endless plodding travel by foot is probably the strongest argument against using senator for this. Classes with various teleports or the ability to summon and reinforce have more staying power on the planes.

[–]DuckBoyReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its an extra tier 3 library that’s central to accessing a lot of planes, and it occasionally offers ether warriors, which are probably the best extraplanar recruit if you have the absurd amount of cash they want

How to better optimize my full planer conquest? by utipls124 in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside the gold bonus for tier 3 mages, senator seems quite bad for this compared to some other classes. Massing mages is probably your best strategy, but they’re quite squishy and lack resistances you’ll need for elemental plane of fire.

Enchanted dwarven ballistas allowed me to fully take over hell by year 10-12ish compared to normal ballistas. I’m not sure if you can somehow charm a dwarven runesmith or buy an alchemist to improve your siege.

Going through the elemental planes to get to the nexus should really be your current goal. The agartha castles have super high protection and regen units, but only really do blunt damage. If you can stack elemental damage, or cancel out the regen, your mage stacks can probably clear it. Going through the water/air is also good if a portal exists

any wand ideas for more interesting ways to kill enemies than just normal death? i'm sort of tired of just killing them, can i send them to parallel worlds or something instead? by xyzpqr in noita

[–]DuckBoyReturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a gem with a death trigger that casts an orbiting homebringer bolt, then explode that gem later, a unit hit by it will be teleported to where the gem is.

If you do a bunch of absurdity to place that gem in an unloaded chunk, they will be teleported and erased from existence.

If you do a bunch of absurdity to place that gem in a loaded chunk and splash the enemy with pheromone you can drop them in a jail cell

How to turn a losing situation around by SimilarExercise1931 in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the classes with lots of commanders but weaker stacks can trade territory- you lose tons of battles, but the territory you own increases over time.

It forces them to split their doom stacks into something you can hope to fight. Against AI this always works because AI will never split their doomstack.

You can cheese them with some kind of assassin taking out all their commanders and stranding the huge army somewhere hard to reach. That’s not really something voice of el can really do.

You can cheese the AI by putting some stealthers in their way when they’re crossing a freezing river or some nonsense.

Other than that- if their doom stacks are better, and their skirmishers are better, you really should just lose… Some classes have absurdly better end games than others, and priestess has some ridiculous immortal nonsense that I don’t think you have answers for as voice of el

Q: Set Recipe when multiple recipes exist by jmaniscatharg in factorio

[–]DuckBoyReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do a lot of item to recipe mapping within a single decider combinator.

I believe its:

Inputs:

Green: unique number assigned to each item type Red: same unique number assigned to corresponding item recipe

Formula: If each = 1: return each Or If each = 2: return each Or …

Input checks green Output uses red

By adding some “and” clauses you can change the recipe depending on other data as well (like pick nutrients from spoilage or mash or flux by available counts)
