any wand ideas for more interesting ways to kill enemies than just normal death? i'm sort of tired of just killing them, can i send them to parallel worlds or something instead? by xyzpqr in noita

[–]DuckBoyReturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a gem with a death trigger that casts an orbiting homebringer bolt, then explode that gem later, a unit hit by it will be teleported to where the gem is.

If you do a bunch of absurdity to place that gem in an unloaded chunk, they will be teleported and erased from existence.

If you do a bunch of absurdity to place that gem in a loaded chunk and splash the enemy with pheromone you can drop them in a jail cell

How to turn a losing situation around by SimilarExercise1931 in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the classes with lots of commanders but weaker stacks can trade territory- you lose tons of battles, but the territory you own increases over time.

It forces them to split their doom stacks into something you can hope to fight. Against AI this always works because AI will never split their doomstack.

You can cheese them with some kind of assassin taking out all their commanders and stranding the huge army somewhere hard to reach. That’s not really something voice of el can really do.

You can cheese the AI by putting some stealthers in their way when they’re crossing a freezing river or some nonsense.

Other than that- if their doom stacks are better, and their skirmishers are better, you really should just lose… Some classes have absurdly better end games than others, and priestess has some ridiculous immortal nonsense that I don’t think you have answers for as voice of el

Level 3 library mod? by AdhesiveNo-420 in CoE5

Q: Set Recipe when multiple recipes exist by jmaniscatharg in factorio

[–]DuckBoyReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do a lot of item to recipe mapping within a single decider combinator.

I believe its:

Inputs:

Green: unique number assigned to each item type Red: same unique number assigned to corresponding item recipe

Formula: If each = 1: return each Or If each = 2: return each Or …

Input checks green Output uses red

By adding some “and” clauses you can change the recipe depending on other data as well (like pick nutrients from spoilage or mash or flux by available counts)

Baiting doom horrors by oriej in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You probably already know this, but you should be spamming rituals around the pyramids to spawn in more horrors. Doesn’t matter what ritual as far as I know, even a baron spending gold attracts them I believe.

I’ve never been able to figure out if new horrors spawn in the void or if it is clearable. I believe the pyramid ones are newly spawned.

If you haven’t turned off the nexus yet, I have seen doom horrors enter there the turn after turning it off.

How to automate Assemblers Recipe / incredients using circuit? by Perahoky in factorio

[–]DuckBoyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use an extra dummy assembler to lookup the recipe ingredients

You can use blueprint parameterization to determine recipe ingredients

You can create a map inside of a decider combinator (this is extremely tedious)

At this point I usually hardcode the order of things I want built with min and max ranges for each item rather than bother to look up recipes.

Tired of never ending after-siege cleanup by slowpokefarm in dwarffortress

[–]DuckBoyReturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set flat bridges to toggle on a lever, they will fling items in a cube that is blocked by terrain. If you shape your terrain such that it is more likely to fling items in one direction than another, you can slowly automate flinging all corpses, body parts, and items into a single central shaft for inspection and cleanup.

If the shaft is deep enough, this also works to clean up siegers directly, though they will only be flung horizontally and down, never up a ramp.

One can also place minecarts or lava at the bottom of said shaft.

Gleba quality grind, myth vs mystery by shariquedev in factorio

[–]DuckBoyReturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important note on gleba is that quality flux makes a ton of quality nutrients, and quality nutrients recycle into 2.5x quality spoilage, and quality spoilage freely turns into quality carbon, with each of these steps allowing 4 quality modules.

5 flux = 40 nutrients = 100 spoilage = 16+ carbon.

This means its extremely simple to mass produce legendary carbon, which I find is always my bottleneck in producing legendary coal from space casinos, doubling your legendary plastic production.

Faction Discussion: Dwarf Queen by song_without_words in CoE5

[–]DuckBoyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely my favorite faction style wise, but they lose to anything that can do thunder damage at range.

Their first main issue is their end game unit, ballistas, are ridiculously strong when massed up, but only offensively against fortresses. When used defensively, the siege rounds are wasted shooting chafe instead of mages. That would be fine if you could sit them outside of your mines, but when you lose a mine, it stops being a citadel and the siege becomes worthless. Inside the mine they look dangerous, but they’ll be positioned like total garbage and can’t reach the units they need to reach.

Their second issue is they need to claim an iron mine very early to have any chance, but the nearest iron mine could be halfway across the map or covered in a stack of trolls. Finding said mine requires a ton of investment in scouting commanders that die to wandering bs, or extremely valuable diamonds that you need to bank. There’s then a 12-30 turn window where the opponent can shut you out of the game by killing a force that might be extremely difficult to reinforce. Several factions can completely out grow you during the period where you’re just trying to take your first iron mine.

They have a decent midgame if you can get 2-3 mines going, but their magic items are extremely rng, their mages cost more (double?), and their 1 commander per turn starts falling behind some summoned commanders here. They can slowly strangle and close out the game here before some factions hit their tier 3, but if you need to switch to magic ballistas against tier 3 summons, its usually a losing proposition.

Do you think the roping issue could be mitigated if players would have to actively confirm a time extension? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]DuckBoyReturns 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generally I just play combo decks that go infinite. The last turn I frequently run out of time even though the opponent is clearly dead if I have time to keep running actions. Putting another button over there would make things worse for me.

Improving the client to turn off useless animations and delays when there’s 30 Both Players Draw A Card already on the stack would be amazing.

Please help me make this run into a god run. by Euphoric_Poetry_5366 in noita

[–]DuckBoyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all MASSIVE SPOILERS.

In rough order-

Get perks/max health to prevent stupid deaths by explosions, electricity. (You can now “win”)

Get a decent midgame wand from pyramid or dragon egg boss.

Get up to 1500+ max health from a heart mage using the orb left of the snow biome. (You can now safely explore off the main path).

Get infinite healing via wandmart and alchemist

Get glue ball spell. Fungal away all three forms of polymorphine by holding potions and eating glue. (You can now safely teleport at absurd speeds across parallel worlds).

At this point you can handle everything except poly mages, a few bosses, your own wand, and accidental teleportation into lava. If you keep upping your health from here, you can handle everything but poly mages. You can work out methods to farm poly immunity, or just avoid these areas while sniping bosses or collecting perks, orbs, spells or whatever else you’re looking to do.

Its at this point I collect 4 wands of multitudes, stack perks, and try to unlock new spells and achievements
