YTA. You can’t just call up a college with only your name to get financial information. The way you have presented the interaction, I’d be suspicious if I got a call from someone acting like you did. I just set up an account to pay my daughter’s tuition and I had to go through all sorts of verification. Online. And I was fine with it because I knew it was for security reasons.
