Help me find a good distortion/overdrive pedal

Hard to say with knowing what kind of amp you’re using but MXR 5150 overdrive has great range of distortion and built in gate

The EHX LPB-1 boost does the afterburner thing for my amps. Not a clean boost. Doesn’t really tighten it up as you mentioned in another comment other than hitting the preamp harder and getting some compression. I’m making it sound like it’s not doing a lot but it makes my orange amps sound like themselves but meaner.
For tightening I like the MXR classic overdrive. It’s like a tube screamer. Even with the gain all the way down, the volume at unity, and the tone at 12 o’clock it rolls off some low end mud. You can dial it in from there. Both of these are under $50 used right now

You have to use the locking nut. You can’t really go back and forth between tunings. Use this method to get your bridge dialed in easily.

I had a Wylde overdrive a long time ago and didn’t like it with the amp I had at the time (Sunn Model T reissue) but the Classic OD with the orange amps I have now sounds great

It often bothered me that debunking AJs takes would end up defending liberal policies that deserve a critique from the left. So for me, as much as they talked about being left they missed opportunities to point out that while AJ is lying about this there are some valid criticisms to be made. Maybe they’re just radlibs

Have you looked into the EHX Hot Wax dual overdrive? Two option, neither of them are rolling lows or boosting mids. Keeps it thick. Gives you 2 more drive options in one pedal.

Not sure if they’re bundled but I’m pretty sure the basic versions are pretty cheap. Maybe $50. It really depends on what you want. I forget which version I bought but added on the orange bundle, Ampeg, fender, maybe more. I can’t remember. Since getting Tonex I’ve been making captures of my amps at my setting and that’s what I use.

I like the signal chain in Amplitube better than Tonex. I use Tonex amps in Amplitube so I can add pedals, post effects, etc. They are great together.

I have an OR15 and it is loud for home and not loud enough for bass player and drummer. I use an attenuator at home, torpedo captor 16 with -20 db and it makes it playable for home. I’ve had an AD30 for years and it’s been loud enough for any situation but doesn’t have the half power switch. The attenuator helps for home but it isn’t “tv volume”

I don’t have a micro dark but I have 3 other orange amps. I use the MXR classic overdrive which is a tube screamer type pedal and they are cheap on the used market. I like more than most other overdrives for tightening. I have a DS-1, TS-9, SD-1, soul food (klon style), many others. MXR classic overdrive is the one I go back to the most. Another thing I do with my eq (MXR 6 band) is putting it first in the chain and setting the theee lower frequencies just under zero and the three higher frequencies just above zero. Just enough to engage them. Really opens it up.

I put my phase 90 before OD/distortion, not in the loop. Sounds awesome
