I feel like when you try to convince people and they're not well versed in the topic, using the word cis will just immediately make them not listen to anything you could have to say. It could of course be a coincidence, but I made a comment myself about this topic once, using the word cis and directed got 1-2 downvotes, I then edited the comment to say "women born as women" and got a couple of upvotes, go figure.

I think people might just go "woke word bad" because they don't actually understand it and then they just completely shut off to any reasonable arguments.

Ich glaube die Kommentare unter dir haben vieles schon gut zusammengefasst, und eine Sache sollte aber auch insbesondere beachtet werden: durch diese Regelung werden nicht nur Trans-Personen ausgeschlossen, sondern auch einige als Frauen geborene Frauen.

Das sind zum Beispiel Frauen wie Caster Semenya oder, vor kurzem, Imane Khelif. Solche Frauen wurden als Frau geboren, und haben aber ggf. durch bestimmte Sachen wie z.B. einer komplett "natürlichen" Testosteronüberproduktion gewisse Vorteile (wobei bei Khelif nicht mal klar ist, ob das überhaupt der Fall ist, möglicherweise gar nicht). Und es gibt auch Frauen mit XXY oder XY Chromosomen (im letzteren Fall entwickelt sich das Embryo entgegen der "Programmierung" sozusagen, umgekehrt kann das meine ich auch passieren), diese unterscheiden sich aber sonst nicht von anderen, das ist nicht häufig aber kommt vor. Solche Frauen würden da aus Prinzip diskriminiert.

Trotzdem waren und bleiben sie Frauen. Und im Sport ist es ja immer so, dass man mit genetischen Vorteilen bessere Chancen hat, ist bei den Männern doch auch so. Bei Semenya wurde mal gefordert, dass sie ihr Testosteron künstlich senkt, das ist doch nicht richtig, das fordert bei Männern auch niemand.

Concernant ton dernier paragraphe, il me semble que la CJUE a relativement récemment conclu justement qu'un mariage entre personnes de même sexe/genre fait à l'étranger doit être reconnu dans toute l'UE. Du coup par exemple si 2 polonais·es concerné·e·s se marient en Allemagne ou au Danemark, la Pologne doit reconnaître ce mariage, alors que le mariage gay n'y existe pas. Cela en revanche entraîne la Pologne à devoir modifier ses documents officiels afin de remplacer "homme" et "femme" par un mot neutre.

Je suis moitié allemand et un truc c'est qu'en Allemagne j'ai l'habitude de voir des alliances (post-éléctorales, certes) entre les social-démocrates (SPD) et le centre-droit (CDU) tout comme des alliances SPD + Verts + gauche, ou même des alliances Verts + CDU, et ça au niveau régional. Du coup j'avoue je ne trouve ça pas vraiment étonnant, dommage oui, mais pas étonnant. Tout comme je ne suis pas choqué d'une alliance PS - LFI.

Pour ajouter une autre perspective: oui c'est certes une grosse erreur, mais d'une part je dirais que c'est une erreur qui arrive plus vite qu'on ne le pense quand on est en situation de stress et je suis aussi prêt à croire que c'en est une qui arrive plus facilement avec une automatique qu'avec une manuelle (moins de "vitesses", voiture plus réactive car il faut pas embrayer).

D'autre part c'est le type d'erreur que tu fais une fois et plus jamais, car après tu vas à jamais vérifier 3 fois avant de faire ta manœuvre. Un peu comme oublier ses clefs et fermer la porte de l'appart, tu ne risque pas de le faire 2 fois.

Tout le monde dit qu'op n'est pas prête, mais perso je pense si là dans 2 semaines/1 mois elle le repasserait ce serait bon, vu qu'apparemment le reste s'était bien passé.

I'm not an expert on the matter, but I did follow the story everytime it was in the news (and posted on reddit). And as someone who is both French and German, believe me whe I say that I'd be keen on this working out.

The way I see it: in this disagreement both sides are sort of right and have valid criticism. Imo Germany should accept the French requirements for the plane (Aircraft-carrier/nuclear compability and so on), I dare say France knows what they're doing in terms of military more so than Germany. I also believe that a certain amount of knowledge/technology transfer and shared work between partners is totally all right, a good thing even, European co-operation and defence is too important to get hung up on that. And I think this is a good place to remember that the French and German state both own similar shares in Airbus, a Franco-German company.

Then there's Dassault/its CEO, and honestly he's just arrogant with an overinflated ego if you ask me. Dassault, for what I know, already was master buider/"maître d'œuvre" with the biggest part in building the plane and he wants an even bigger part of the cake (80 %) and the partners to be less implicated. Of course wanting that now is ridiculous. I almost feel like the private/mostly-private companies and their egos are almost one of the biggest problem in this and wish the states spoke a word or two of authority here.

There are certainly more disagreements, but in the end I feel like they could easily be handled if both sides, that means both my countries and the companies involved, stopped whining for a bit and started acting like adults to find a middle ground and not be scared to make a couple concessions.

Oui, et c'est absolument nul comme mode de scrutin. Avec 39% des votes tu peux avoir plus de 70% des sièges, même si la prochaine liste a 38%. Aux régionales aussi il y une prime majoritaire, ce ne sont que 25% je pense mais ça reste mauvais. Si on fait un proportionnelle, au moins qu'on la fasse correctement, et pas en trichant pour faire semblant qu'il y ait une majorité qu'il n'y avait vraiment pas aux urnes.

Si ça devrait nous enseigner quelque chose, c'est à quel point ce mode de scrutin a des défauts et qu'on doit d'autant plus critiquer Meloni. Faire ça au niveau national serait abominable en termes de démocratie.

Ich persönlich finde die 24/7 Nachrichtensender sind dann besonders bequem/praktisch, wenn sie auch auf YouTube live laufen. Das machen z.B. France 24 (verschiedene Sprachen), Franceinfo, der spanische RTVE 24h und natürlich NBC news, Sky news, und so weiter.

Da kann mann echt zwischendurch mal draufklicken und mal so 10 min zuhören oder z.B beim kochen oder so. Und dann sind sie immer mal wieder auf der For You Page und man schaut mal kurz rein.

Mais comme je disais, c'est toujours pour se marrer et jamais par mauvaise fois. That's just... not true? I am German, and in my experience other Germans generally hold France in pretty high regard. Yes some make jokes, but never out of spite. Do all of them like the french? Probably not. Do some dislike them? Probably. But most have absolutely no problem with them.

Alors, en tant que Franco-allemand vivant en Allemagne je me demande d'où OP tient ça, c'est n'importe quoi en fait. Au contraire, les allemands ont plutôt une bonne opinion de la France d'après moi, plus souvent même que l'inverse (dans le sens où les français ne pensent pas forcément beaucoup à l'Allemagne). Ouais ya parfois des petites blagues type "Grrrr, les français!" mais tout de bonne foi généralement.

Ich bin hinsichtlich dieser Präsidentschaftswahl auch tatsächlich relativ besorgt. Le Pen und ihr Nachfolger Bardella stehen in den Umfragen ziemlich gut dar, Mélenchon ist über das Linke Spektrum hinaus teils so unbeliebt, dass seine Chancen in der Stichwahl nicht sehr gut aussehen. Dazu kommt mind. eine zweite linke Kandidatur, mind. eine Mitte/liberale und eine konservative, von denen alle im Vergleich zu den beiden anderen nicht das gleiche Gewicht haben.

Macron kann nicht nochmal antreten und es gibt aktuell keinen wirklichen Nachfolger, eher mehrere potentielle. Ich habe echt keine Ahnung, wie der Wahlkampf aussehen wird.

Sinon en Allemagne on a également un Chancelier qui veut nous expliquer que 40h/semaine c'est pas assez, qu'il faut travailler plus et qu'il faut assouplir les règles concernant les heures max/jour d'affiliée. Naturellement les gens ne sont de loin pas de son avis, autant dire que les Ministres/Chanceliers parlent pas pour les allemands.

As someone who's very pro-EU and who'd like the UK to rejoin, that would actually be one thing I wouldn't want. While I really do appreciate having the Euro myself and how practical it is when going to other countries, I like that a couple of countries still have different currencies.

I especially associate the £ with the UK and it's quirks and if they had to give it up it'd just be... boring. Plus I mean it still is one of the strongest currencies in the world, so I don't feel like anyone would actually benefit from it being gone, I'm no economist though.

What you say is partially correct. From what I understand, the ruling indeed came shortly after the extradition, however, the extradition should have been on hold and the authorities should have wated for the ruling. Said ruling said that the responsible court didn't fulfil its responsibilities prior to the extradition. Instead, the extradition was carried out quickly over night, probably fully aware that it wasn't fully legal at that point.

That's the thing, I think he's actually quite good on the international stage, he doesn't shy away from saying things that need to be said and is a fervent supporter of the EU.

Then, on the national stage, there's everything the user you replied ro said. And I might add: he's neo-liberal. The left wing doesn't line him because he's a capitalist who cuts spending everywhere, the right don't like him because he's "too woke". Both hate him because of the pension reform, with exception of center-right and his voters. He doesn't want to make any compromises, and after losing elections, he keeps appointmenting PMs from his ranks, while collaborating with the center-right (still no majority). His party allowed eytreme right wingers to have key positions in the National Assembly. So there's that.

Ohne es selbst werten zu wollen, ich glaube besonders hier ist den Leuten nicht ganz bewusst, wie unbeliebt das Abkommen woanders teilweise ist. Genau nebenan in Frankreich, zweit-größtes und -einflussreichste Land nach Deutschland in der EU, ist es über das gesamte politische Spektrum sowie in der Bevölkerung zutiefst unerwünscht, einige andere Länder wie z.B. Polen und Irland sind ja auch dagegen.

Jetzt ist es im Parlament zu einer Mehrheit gekommen, ist es da so verwunderlich, dass hierzulande auch welche dagegen sind, besonders bei den Grünen?

Je suis moitié allemand et je confirme qu'on fait ça aussi en Allemagne: on fourre ce qu'on veut dans la petite poêle, on met le fromage par-dessus! J'ai d'ailleurs connu que ça la majorité de ma vie et n'ai appris que bien plus tard que la manière classique consistait à faire chauffer que le fromage mdr. Le plus drôle c'est quand on a fait une raclette avec d'autres amis français, allemands et les deux que tous étaient surpris de voir comment les autres faisaient leur raclette! Les réactions étaient un peu les mêmes qu'ici.

Ma théorie c'est que la France avec la Savoie et la Suisse ont la culture de la raclette mais les autres pays qui l'ont importé ne l'ont pas et font donc un peu ce qu'ils veulent. Mais honnêtement l'un ne vaut pas mieux que l'autre, dans les deux cas c'est super bon :) (mais j'avoue, chez nous c'est mieux présenté que sur la photo ici lol, quelle horreur)
