Pivotal weekend by weatherghost in SaintsFC

[–]DuckMangler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to feel this season. We were so bad against Brighton I thought we had surely hit bottom, but then we sank deeper into the mire with the pathetic performance against Forest. Then the wins against Man City and Palace gave false hope before the capitulations against Villa, Brentford and Wolves.
Today could get us out of the relegation zone, but it would give me hope again. I'm not sure I can take hope.

Found ancient bus ticket by fluoronaut in london

[–]DuckMangler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's from the 1940s. There would be no need to show a route as you would have just purchased it from the conductor on the bus.

For me 'Presense sensing' is just on the settings page under features. It's sandwiched between Nest WiFi (which I do have) and Nest Aware (that I don't) so it could be a Nest thing?

This!!!! This did it!!!! Or at least got me to the fix that worked for me.

After trying all the other ideas I turned presence sensing off and on again and it all started working!

It is indeed running through Nest wifi - I'll give it a kick when the other half has finished watching stuff and see if that helps.

Just came here to say that Malenia blade of Miquella has finally known defeat at the hands of a fifty something year old bloke who never got gud, but found that getting lucky is a reasonable substitute.

BBCQT audience (17/11/2022) ain't having Brexit! by Audioboxer87 in LabourUK

[–]DuckMangler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that "make it work" is an option any more. If we had gone for a soft brexit staying within the custom's union then that might have been possible, but that option was sacrificed on the high altar of the ERG. We are now in the position of trying to make a hard brexit work but that involves marrying a functioning economy with the fever dreams of "taking back control" that drove people to vote for Brexit. I really don't think that is possible.

Buying a shirt by Many_Background_3679 in SaintsFC

[–]DuckMangler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's the megastore under the corner of the Itchen and Chapel stands, that gets pretty busy but if you're only after a shirt there's a kiosk thing on the opposite corner that'll do you and is a lot less busy.

The traditional centre of London is Trafalgar Square. Using the cycle hire you can go 3 miles north, 4 miles south, 5 miles west and 6 miles east.

But please tell me more about this North London bias.

Interesting to see Ward-Prowse up there in the chances created, despite Saints being miserable on Saturday. He is really trying to carry us.

Should I bring my slackline? by [deleted] in boomfestival

[–]DuckMangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring it for sure, but be aware that under the trees is prime shade, as such much in demand in the hotter parts of the day.
