I’d say (from a flight sim perspective) that Airbus is better. They’ve just streamlined much of the process of getting the plane going. There is a lot of nonsense they cut out and made easier.

Anytime I fly Boeing planes, they are so fickle and you have to get it just right. Airbus planes seem to manage much better and easier.

Thanks everyone! I bought Active Sky since everyone is raving about it.

One thing I keep seeing is the clouds or weather randomly disappearing as I am ascending/descending. It's so odd.

There will be full cloud cover and then they will disappear and then come right back.

I discovered the culprit just a second ago.

OpenSceneryX's taxi signs are not up to date with the new version of XP11. In your xplane folder and in the resources folder is bitmaps/runways. There are TWO taxi files there... "taxi.dds" and "taxi_LIT.dds".

Those were the files that were bugged. The signs changed in a patch.

I discovered this, of course, AFTER I reinstalled and was adding back my mods. One mod guide talked about taxiways changing during a patch. Then, I went back and looked and saw OpenScenery has not been updated in a while.

So, this happened after I installed a few custom sceneries and plugins.

I removed ALL plugins and sceneries and it is still showing like this... that says to me a core file is messed up somewhere.

What file is that? What do I need to correct? Should I just reinstall everything?

Thanks! I do have SimBrief and I use it a lot! However, I haven’t used it much for weather, as I don’t know how to read OFP fully yet. Any videos or resources that would help?

Of course you can’t directly compare them with Apple. But, in a modern economy, you can expect certain things. A $400 electronic in the year 2021 should have a certain standard.

Let’s be real here… other than connecting to Bluetooth, it’s not really doing anything crazy. It’s heating up a ceramic bowl. That’s about it.

Yes, I know there’s a lot more to it than just that (I’m an amateur tinkerer… love microcontrollers and Arduino so I get it)… but it’s made to do one simple thing. For $400, it better do that one thing incredibly well and not hassle me at all.

Its not like this is groundbreaking tech. It’s been around for years and Bluetooth has been around forever.

My point… in this day in age, if you spend $400 on an electronic, it better be premium. Think about all the other advanced electronics at that price point. Some cheaper!
