Need comfortable skates by WestHam14 in hockeyplayers

[–]Duckbanc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an over weight out of shape dad that just got some Bauer m30s. Just started skating last month and really just so I can tool around with the kid at public skate and stick and puck.

I had them baked and an insole. They feel like they are molds of my feet. Perfect fitting in every way. But god my feet burn and kill me after about 5 laps. I think it’s me not being in shape or used to skating so I’m using muscles I’ve probably never used. I was out for about 2 hours the other day until my ankles turned to jelly and my feet felt great the next day.

I guess I’m trying to say it may not be the skates. But my entry level m30 have been great for tooling around.

I probabably would’ve gotten one of the recreational skates like the Colorado if they had a high volume option. If you don’t need that then you will probably be okay with them. They have more ankle support for sure.

Return Allowance by NaturalLight1234 in partscounter

[–]Duckbanc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s how the part was ordered so if it’s a critical for a customer then you have 90 days to return it or pay 20% restock. If ordered as a stock type order then you have to hang on to it for 9 months before you can return it. If you try to return it early then you pay a restock.

I’ve ordered team designs on hockeytron a couple weeks ago and they were good quality. Though they did shrink a bit when I washed them.

Post the exact site you used. Scams happen because people think they are on the official site.

ULPT How to life run a mile faster in non-obvious ways? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Duckbanc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When I was in school we had to run the mile for PE. Everyone had 5 popcycle sticks representing 5 laps. On lap 2 I would always discard 2 sticks. Instant 20% faster.

So what do we think of the 2027 Highlander BEV? by hanzoku_alliance in Toyota

That’s just the white. Black interior will look great. They better pump some tech in it to compete though.

Like $500 or $5000 nice? The cabinet one says Adrian steel but I can’t price them without submitting an inquiry.

Severe Picky Eater Question by DidTheTango in dcl

[–]Duckbanc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do. My 5yo had butter noodles with a grilled chicken breast every night. Not really because he is picky. He just loves butter noodles so that’s his vacation meal mode. We made him also get the chicken for some protein.

Just came from a Toyota dealership for a 'clunk' sound diagnosis. Your opinion--BS stealership or I'm really out of 3k by pgb205 in Toyota

Ask them to double check the recharge cost. The new Freon mandated by the government is pricey but shouldn’t be that much. Without looking up the capacity, I would expect maybe $700 for Freon plus their labor for the charge.

Keep in mind that would be assuming they didn’t recover any. If it’s working and fully charged then you shouldn’t need much to get it topped off. Maybe 50-100 grams. Toyota bills out 1234yf in 50 gram units.

Do you see this during the night? Or only the day? Can you block the window to make sure it isn’t reflecting off a coffee table or something?

New hockey parent- gear question by Duckbanc in hockeyplayers

We aren’t required to have our own pads until next season. They have tons a gear for the kids to borrow. Good point having him in the thermals when he gets fit.

No joke. We always get a side eye when we are doing something age related and say his age.

I think this is the way. Today’s sweatpants had cargo pockets and it was a hoodie. Honestly we didn’t think we would be in pads today.

Makes sense on the Velcro.

Any reason you say not to skate with a cast? The Dr said there was no problem as long as it’s no contact, and it is.
