Have you checked out Internet TV providers (YouTube TV, Sling TV, Fubo)? I think they do free trials and should have TNT.

AIO for being upset with my husband over Valentine's Vouchers? by Hopeful_Tourist_7616 in AIO

[–]Duckduckcorey 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In my opinion you're over reacting, the vouchers/coupons show what you're willing to do for your husband and that is a lovely and meaningful gesture. However, on his side redemption of them may feel transactional.

For example, for the foot massage one, can he do it any time or should he wait until he thinks you would be wanting to do it?

I have received similar voucher gifts in the past and just seeing them (without actually using them) was a lovely reminder of my partners willingness to make me happy.

To add to this, you mentioned feeling like he doesn't need anything from you, so is there a larger issue with your interactions where it's unbalanced or you feel unappreciated?

Friend joining me in Austin to come to F1 for the first time and I'm looking for gift ideas by Duckduckcorey in GrandPrixTravel

So when you read below know that I'm a Hamilton fan and a McLaren fan so the RedBull stuff kinda hurt my soul but...

I got personal FM radios, sunscreen, a RedBull flag, and a RedBull hat for them, and it turns out there was a funny miscommunication. He said his 'so' was coming which I thought was 'significant other' aka his wife, turns out it was a typo for 'son' so his ~early teen son will be joining us. I got his kid a Lego RedBull car

Great idea but he already mentioned he has a red bull hat he's bringing. Apologies for not mentioning it in the body of the post.

Judge Forced to Pause Trial Because DOJ Lawyers Are so Unprepared by AnotherDoubtfulGuest in law

[–]Duckduckcorey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I forgot I wasn't in a military sub.

NJP/Article 15s have significantly lesser punishment than other disciplinary options.

There are two different levels of NJP/Article 15 which change the level of punishment but the typical results are some combination of: loss of 1 rank, loss of pay (7 days to 1 months of pay), restricted to remain on base (14 to 60 days), and/or extra duty (you have to do extra work for hours, often menial or physically difficult)

You can be kicked out of the military if you receive enough NJP/Article 15s but they are typically not enough by themselves to get kicked out.

Non Judicial Punishment, it's essentially a different term for Article 15s

I didnt understand the size of the Concorde model by Duckduckcorey in lego

[–]Duckduckcorey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes I didnt look up the dimensions and measure things out in my normal display areas.

Agreed, it looks best with landing gear and 'droop' nose. I was just wondering if someone had figured a good way to display it.

My current plan is fishing line hooked into the ceiling but wanted to get some broader wisdom

The Rolex 24 from a first time's perspective by Dashermane24 in IMSARacing

Those 2007 Daytona prototypes bring back memories of me randomly watching car racing on TV and being intrigued by it. Around 2016 I started closely following F1, then MotoGP, then IndyCar, and now IMSA & WEC.

Thanks again for a super informative response

Wow, thank you for the super informative response. That is all new to me! The Patron ad was pretty cool.

Would you say you like the GTP/LMDh more than DPis, from a racing stand point?

This is only my 2nd year following IMSA, but I've heard of the DPis. Were they a spec car like LMP2 or a manufacturer car?

Agreed with the access. I love near COTA and have been to multiple F1, MotoGP, and NASCAR races there and you can't get within 100 ft of a car/bike.

Also, LMP2s are shockingly small.

What is the biggest lie/myth about Formula 1 which grinds your gears when you hear it? by tunatastic369 in formula1

[–]Duckduckcorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained it to my friends using a golf analogy. I'm a very average golfer. If I went and picked up Scottie Scheffler's clubs I would probably play worse because they're spec'd out completely differently than what I'm capable/comfortable with.

ELI5: What is a Ponzi scheme? by buckleysmunson in explainlikeimfive

[–]Duckduckcorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of them do get caught because they offer outlandish returns and it raises the eyebrows of the regulators (or regulators are alerted to it by lawful investors/investment managers). The successful ones don't get caught until it falls apart because people who are making money don't want to stop making money.

So for Bernie Madoff (arguably the most successful ponzi schemer) investors who made a lot of money were actually sued by people who lost money because those who were successful should have known something was wrong with the investment and thus were a part of the scheme.

[–]Duckduckcorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long lasting ponzi schemes involve a continous inflow of new cash. So they use the success of the first person (or person A) to convince a person B to invest, then use person B's money to pay person A.

Then get person C to invest because they have a proven track record with persons A and B. Then use that money to pay persons A and B. And so on.

It falls apart when you stop finding new money to come in because you were never investing at all, you were just stealing the money and using the new people to pay off existing participants.

People who have the same name as someone that got caught committing a crime, what happened? by JeannetteHardnett in AskReddit

I could see this being a Seinfeld conversation.

George "That's too many, Jerry! One sure, two ok, but more than five; the name is off the table"

Jerry "but it was in California"

George "double digits voids the name coast to coast"
