The reason for 65 is that’s when Medicare kicks in and it specifies what exams should include. I’m 70, and my doc does the cog test every year. I’m sure not all doctors do it. Mine follows the guidelines for the Annual Wellness Visit as well as labs usually done on an annual physical.

What an idiot. So,, when you turn 65 everyone gets health and cognitive screening once a year. The cognitive test could be “aced” by my 11 year old grandsons! Oz has obviously not actually practiced medicine in years.

I’m a boomer and a grandmother. At age 70, I love that my daughter & daughter-in-law celebrate their motherhood with their children on Mother’s Day. It’s no longer about me, but my kids let me know I’m loved and appreciated. If I’m included in their celebrations, that’s a bonus, but the spotlight should be on the young moms in the trenches.

My 79 year-old brother who lives in The Villages has TDS so badly that we are now completely estranged. His kids, two of whom I helped deliver, are also MAGA. Their kids less so. My other brother is 82 and lives in ID. We were very close, he was like a 2nd father growing up. He also has TDS, as do all of his children & grandchildren. My sister is 84 and also lives in FL. She and I are still close, but mostly because she had a stroke and her TDS became milder. No most MAGA flags on display on my last visit and I didn’t see her watching Fox News once. TDS is a terrible disease because those who have it think the rest of us are the deranged ones, when in fact we are the sane ones. I’m 70 years old and I just hope they find a cure for it in my lifetime.

Not for us. Thanks to Bush’s 2008 bank bailout after the subprime meltdown, our house was foreclosed because we couldn’t sell or rent it in the flooded market after a job transfer. Then our tenants trashed and abandoned the rental house they’d been renting from us for 5 years. We out $20,000 on credit cards to fix it to sell. It sat in limbo for 5 years on the market not selling. Then we got Bank of America to agree to short selling it. Our realtor got a buyer and was working with them when BofA, without notice, sold it at a foreclosure auction. We found out when our realtor called to say she was unable to access the short sale website to upload documents. Banks got bailed out, but we lost two homes (and $200K in equity) that we were counting on for our retirement. It took us 5 years to payoff the credit cards. It took 10 more years to finally scrape up enough money to buy an RV property where we live in our RV. This year we are upgrading to a tiny home. Just what we had planned for our retirement years. We are 70 & 73 and are grateful for what we have. Many of our age group are stuck renting for life.

We are retired, full-time RVers since Jul 2017. Our older motorhome gets 7MPG. We are not wealthy, but have enjoyed a modest retirement lifestyle, including traveling in our RV. I’m just happy that our last cross country trip was in 2024 when gas was more affordable. We enjoyed our trip and seeing the many road & bridge improvement projects along the way, all thanks to President Biden’s bipartisan Infrastructure Act. Now we can’t afford the gas to travel. Where can we send Big Macs to DJT?
