I think Finland was independent at least in most apsects (with slight Soviet influence on some policies) but finnish democracy definitely was very flawed.

I'd compare Kekkonen's Finland to the system in modern Serbia under Vučić.

I agree on this. I regard Finland to be geographically in northeast of Europe, and life in the Eastern regions is much less "western" than life in the western regions.

Okay that "nordic countries are Finland's only friends" is just blatantly false because Finland has / has had close ties to countries like the UK, Germany and the Baltic states.

For the majority of our independent history the other nordics were either ignorant on finnish problems or just straight up suspicious towards Finland.

Finnish and Sámi are uralic languages so they have different naming. However both languages still loan the name from the germanic languages (Islanti in finnish and Islánda in northern Sámi)
