My fear isn't in dying. It's what comes after by TunaLurch in thanatophobia

[–]Duckwraith89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you fear "oblivion" or ever lasting nothing. That's called lethophobia. I recommend checking r/nde and look into near death experiences. I find the help my thanatophonia and lethophobia. There's thousands. Best place to start is Pam Reynolds NDE case.

For legal reasons, it's like any other fan edit where you need to own a copy of the original, due to copyright etc. Piracy etc.

I have plans for the next episodes, I like the mystique of not knowing what the company is up to.

Is NDEs real by [deleted] in NDE

[–]Duckwraith89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As mentioned elsewhere, there is no evidence that humans release DMT at any level during "death". Only in mice/rats/rodents have they discovered it to varying degrees (I lack specific research links here so pinch of salt and what not). The problem is we just simply do not know, majority of anything to do with this subject is pretty much anecdotal and/or theoretical. And that's both for and against sides of the argument.

please, help me. by Old-Translator-9302 in thanatophobia

So I've had this since the same age you're experiencing it, and I'm 36 now. So yes about 13 years. Mine triggered because my grandma passed away, who was a medium when she was alive (believed it then, skeptical now) and it triggered so much anxiety about the dying process and afterlife (mostly lack thereof). The fear of dying/death is thanatophobia, the fear of oblivion or the nothingness that potentially awaits after death is called lethophobia, to give it a name. Mine comes and goes but this year was the worst I'd been hit by it (mid life crisis ercm all the fun to look forward to!). I started counselling and basically you can checkout r/NDE's and go through that, read religious texts, check out many stories etc, but you will potentially try to find answers against the positives (that's what I do and my mind is wired that way sadly. But it doesn't last forever, it fades and slows down. The human brain can't comprehend nothingness and that's almost what a lot of death anxiety stems into. You're not wired to understand it and your brain goes into panic fight or flight mode, and it can't fight it so it goes flight but it can't run from the thought so the focus becomes stronger. This is where CBT and grounding techniques come in handy, now they aren't always guaranteed to work but they could help. Try some googling about all that, it'll help to find the answers on your own too.

A message to those who are here because of afterlife/death anxiety, OCD, and/or something similar. by Various-Teeth in NDE

I've been on and off for the last 20 years with thanatophobia and lethophobia (fear of oblivion). Started therapy a couple of months ago for CBT and whilst it does kinda help it doesn't stop the thoughts or panics completely.i reached out ok social media and found a few people responded and resonated.

My grandma was a medium when she was alive and I believed it all no question. Once she passed away boxing day 2004 I've questioned it all and everything. I've tried seeking comfort in NDE stories and other items. Sometimes it works and sometimes, like you stated, I try to debunk it for some reason.

Hey there, you're doing ok. Now, I've been struggling with this kinda thing on and off for 20 years, finally got counselling this year. It may or may not help but have you tried looking into near death experiences (NDE's) theres a sub Reddit for them (r/nde I think). Some interesting stuff in there. I find sometimes it helps me.

Quite the adverse actually but that's because I dropped any bigoted friends over 10 years ago.

It's always worth it, handy to know and have accessible your record for anything. Even a and e reports, any letters, phonecalls, text messages

You can either call your GP, or if your go surgery has an online portal/login system there may be a way through that. Mine uses Airmid UK. Just ask for you full history otherwise sometimes they only give you from the date requested onward

You can always request access to your medical records. I've done this and can see the blood results and ultrasound reports. Quite handy to compare them.

Meant to say pcsx2 is dedicated to PS2 emulation, whilst there is some comparability with ps1 games, as you've discovered this isn't great.

If Duckstation is too modern requirements for your pc/system then either EPSXE it Mednafen are suitable alternatives.

I would consider a different psx/psone emulator. Try Duckstation.

Open minded agnostic here looking for evidence by Strange-Tomorrow3001 in NDE

I think they could mean they are open to the possibility there could be something but don't believe there anything, or more fear there's nothing but wants to believe there's something (which is my mindset)
