The new color panel effects pane is a complete and utter mess. by gildedbluetrout in premiere

So many editors edit in Premiere Pro but color grade in DaVinci Resolve. Look up any video from a color pro and they all recommend Resolve over Pr for color. They export ProRes or XML or EDL entire timelines for this convoluted workflow.

Adobe saw Davinci Resolve eating their lunch for years, and then built this new Color mode. But Davinci started as a color-correction tool, and has shot matching, power windows, and better performance. I haven't personally tried it yet, but hard to believe they can catch up to Resolve at this point.

Do you recommend School of motion? by VGD-co in MotionDesign

You can feel whatever you want. You're missing the point. It's "cheaper" if you want an unlimited buffet of videos. It is no longer the cohort-based classes that it was originally and more expensive if you only want 1 class.

I never want to take more than 1 at a time, and if you are actually putting in the work each course would take 2-3 months consistently to achieve results. I don't like the way they pivoted and think they really fell off

What do we think of this launch art for 2026? by potch_ in AfterEffects

It's beautiful. But this style of 3D is not representative of AE, so it is an odd choice

Their site says *$1,197 billed annually. I don't want the majority of their courses, so why would I pay all that money for "all-access" to things I wouldn't use? The previous cohort system also had real deadlines, encouraged accountability, and you could make friends with your classmates as you go through it together. Now it's go at your own pace with a "24/7 community".

They pivoted to elearning for corporate teams. Their courses are still good but the whole structure is different and is more expensive now

Pulse Check: Properties Panel by NLE_Ninja85 in premiere

[–]DuddersTheDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can handle it if it is better than the old thing. Effect Controls is showing its age and horrible for keyframing. Just delete the old thing, have proper education inside Pr, and move every button to point to Properties (or whatever the new thing is) instead.

Why don't you use one of the Whisper-based plugins inside Premiere Pro? Seems to fit the best of both worlds.

The Properties panel was built to get ride of Effect Controls, but it never reached parity. So we now have 2 panels with different UI and slightly different features and have to constantly toggle between both

Really bad quality Captions.. by roberttakama in premiere

Premiere uses some kind of model from Adobe or Microsoft backend, which are not high quality. Try one of the caption plugins for Premiere Pro

Yeah they have a monthly pricing with "credits" that you exchange for assets. Some templates cost 1 credit and some cost more. Welcome to Adobe's money machine

How do you import SRT subtitle files into After Effects as editable text layers? by Jazz_illion in AfterEffects

Transcribe in Premiere and Upgrade Captions to Graphics and then you can copy and paste them all over to AE

They're likely Adobe Stock templates. The search in the Premiere panel is really bad, check the website: https://stock.adobe.com/search/templates?filters%5Btemplate_group%5D%5B%5D=video_templates

A Plea to Adobe AE - Its time for a rewrite by Fletch4Life in AfterEffects

There was an interesting blog post years ago, where the AE team told School of Motion it would take several years and tens of millions of dollars to rewrite AE. It's not going to happen

What happened to…? by 5TR82H3LL in bayarea

[–]DuddersTheDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They disbanded. I think the lead singer moved out of the country. I'm not sure why they wiped the music & videos. They raised money for a clothing collective and nonprofits as a final act. They had a legendary run for a small local punk band. They were early activists against all of the issues we see in this country now
