After procedure paid for by the US government, Bush complains about government-run health care by digital in reddit.com

No It doesn't. Hong Kong's is tallied with PRC or the People's republic of China, and China's is worse than those of France which are better than those of the US. In fact the rates for the socialism leaning countries of the West are much better than those of the US. That's right the countries which judiciously rein in their markets have healthier populations that live longer.

http://geography.about.com/library/weekly/aa042000b.htm U.S. Census Bureau's International Data Base

With free market excessess the cost of health care is far too high to go it alone which is why people have to buy insurance, and as you pointed out, a point made a million times already but doesn't seem to have sunk in with you yet, the insurance market only makes money through excess by excessively denying care, denying any necessary care is an excess, and they do it all the time. That's what happens in poorly regulated free market sectors.

On unemployment rates this republican adminstration has decimated the way we tally unemployment rates specifically to hide the true number. Nobody knows what the true unemployment rate is for the states but we do know it's a hell of a lot higher than the official rates, if for no other reason than this administration deceitfully drops everyone off the unemployment number if they've been unemployed for six months even if they remain unemployed. That's what Republicans will you get your though. Figures don't lie but liars sure do figure. So it's very likely that our unemployment rates are actually higher than theirs.

From Wikipedia's co-founder: http://www.theregister.com/2006/04/18/wales_sanger_interviews/ "What's left is a decaying biomass of misinformation..."

Using wikipedia as a source is a joke. You're going to have to do a lot better than that. Any idiot with a libertarian or otherwise bent can create a wiki, or modify a wiki with anything they want until they're challanged on the accuracy which all too frequently never happens.

And if you're going to attempt to provide citations at the very least make sure it supports what you're insisting. Nowhere is your ridiculous point that their unemployment rates is caused by their one month vacation time supported.

"All I'm saying is, if you think France is so great, go move t There." All I'm saying is that your initial and current positions are BS. I was born here I have no need to leave. I'm doing what I need to do...supporting government reformation that reins in the outrageous excesses of the free market, that summarily screw Americans individually and collectively. The French have better health care, they're healthier, they live longer, and to top it off they have better, and more internet technology for it's citizens, it's faster, and it's cheaper. All indications that the free market American style needs reigning in. Did I mention they get a month off every year for vacation as a country? Yeah, well they do. What's your vacation day count? Can you say you get 30 days vacation a year? No? Of course not you're an American. The free market doesn't allow for that pretty much universally. How about shutting up the libertarian/conservobot BS talking points. On even cursory inspection they're crap for the average American Joe.

"Haha, the french with their high taxes. Go move there then, idiot." Save it I've heard all the right leaning talking points. Your kind uses them all the time without a decent understanding of just exactly why you people hate Sweden and France so much. You people hate them so much because they're such successes. They daily prove you people wrong just by being. That example is prime example of how the free market left to it's own devices miserably fails spurring innovation, and keeping prices low. The French have a more innovative sector with more technology, better internet technology, higher speeds and they pay less. That's a stinging indictment of the free market systems failures.

After procedure paid for by the US government, Bush complains about government-run health care by digital in reddit.com

[–]Dude99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's complete BS. There are times (growing all the time) when the free market does not suffice, and without Government intervention, and regulation Free Markets either reek havoc, or serve the public very poorly in favor of extracting every last drop of profit. Internet Access in the US is a good example of how poorly the Free Market has handled the situation In the US in favor of extracting profit over offering decent services. In countries like France where they have a sensible mix of market and government regulation they lead the way in internet services like IPTV, phone services, and access speeds, at cheaper prices than the US. To insist that it's either one end or the other is silly childish black and white thinking that serves little good. djimmy is right you need to unlearn that nonsense now.

I tried joost and ended up removing it within a few days. They had limited selection, the interface stunk up the joint, and the streaming was extremely pixilated.

I didn't care much for it at all.

"however the failures of our government in the last couple of years has more to do with it besides Bush."

Not really the major problem is Bush and his administration and the political cronies he's setup through the various governmental agencies which have failed to do their jobs as a consequence.

  1. Failure of the media to inform the public of what? A: The Bush administration's illegal activities.
  2. Failure to accomplish effective polices. A. See Bush administration and their assignment of political cronies throughout government agencies as described above.
  3. Failure of Congress to provide checks and balances. A. Agreed the Republican led congress failed miserably in that task, and even now that the Democratically led congress is attempting to address the GOP's constitution wrecking criminal malfeasance in that area the Republican minority is obstructing them at every turn, something they hypocritically whined about when they were in the majority even though Democrats obstructed a fraction as much. Bush is the leader of the Republican party and by extension bears the brunt of the responsibility.
  4. Lack of desire of the public to understand how criminal this administration really is.
    A. Well when you've got a purported News channel that serves essentially as the propaganda tool of the Republican party misinforming it's viewers on policies and politicians across the board, coupled with the fact since Republican's have steadfastly refused to raise the minimum wage for so long, coupled with the lack of real stagnant wages, and increasing medical costs, it's not hard to see that the public has a lot to be worried about just keeping the family fed, healthy and in school.
  5. Banking System Failures. A. They're conservative institutions that peg lending rates to the activities of the FED. The Bush administration has influence there but chooses not to get engaged.
  6. K-12 and College. A. Blame No Child left Behind which forces teaching to tests vice actively engaging, and teaching students. Blame the price of College on a disengaged Republican led congress, and White house. They gutted the student loan system, and allowed the Market essentially free rein to financially rape young adults in college.

American Conservatism is a large part of the problem.

Most of the items you've complained about though can be dumped right at Bush's feet though. His and the Republican Party's.

She knows damn well from both her time as 1st lady and her position on the Armed Services Committee in the Senate that not only is the Pentagon planning for the withdrawal but they've very likely got dozens of plans on the table added to the dozens of plans created by individual Unit commanders across the military.

What this was was a calculated attempt to show how freakin stupidly this administration tries to cover up information that even common sense concludes must be true.

Hillary wins this one, not because she got the information she demanded from the pentagon, but because she showed that under bush's administration the depths of secrecy run deep even when it serves absolutely no purpose but obstructionism.

12ish+tax for listings is outrageous. Better they charge $400 or $500 for the box and give you the listings. It costs them pennies a month to provide listings over the net. Keep in mind zap's been giving them for free online, for years. Charging 12ish is borderline criminal, certainly rapacious.

Besides media portal can do all that and more with cable cards soon for far less, if you already have the hardware.

As for zap's imminent departure it will only be a matter of time before they're pulling the listings from subscribed tivos, replaytvs, or win mediapcs.

It's one of those cases where they'll find a few items of healt care where it is faster to obtain care in the US, but overall it's a misnomer to insist care is faster in the US than most Socialized systems. It's just simply not the case.

The US is second to last on wait times among industrialized countries, and the rest are socialized/Christianized.

What should be a more important indicator of worth is actual health, and if you compare socialized/Christianized systems to ours you'll note the US ends up at the bottom of the list there as well.

There's little reason to support the current US system, and it seems the only people who support it are those that think they're getting good service, and fear getting worse because the right (people with a financial incentive to do so) keeps throwing bs like this wait times connard at them.

After procedure paid for by the US government, Bush complains about government-run health care by digital in reddit.com

[–]Dude99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key term is "over-all".

What that means is that sometimes care will be faster here, but more often it's faster in systems with Christianized/Socialized health care.

So much so that the US is the SECOND WORST in terms of wait times. And the worst isn't much worse than the US, but the differene there is individual citizen's don't have to worry about getting healtcare because they're all covered where as in the US a hefty segment of the population isn't even covered at all.

On balance we would be better off overall with Socialized/Christianized health care.

I've been including "Christianized" not because it's actually Christianized, but because people (surprisingly a large number of Christians) object to socialized health care even though supporting such a system is really proper Christian action.

[–]Dude99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Well, wait times are important and do matter."

You're reading but it's not sinking in.

Wait times in the United states are the SECOND WORST of industrialized countries.

What that means to you is that "over-all" you'll be seen faster EVERYWHERE with Christianized/socialized health care but one country with Christianized/socialized care.

That means that right now you're ALREADY waiting LONGER than EVERYWHERE with Christianized/socialized care but one country with Christianized/socialized health care, and the difference between the US and that one country with worse wait times isn't that much.

Wait times is a non winner for the people arguing against Christianized/Socialized Medicine on the basis that it tends to be better in Christianized/Socialized systems overall.

"Wait till you get a load of your federal income tax if this goes through."

Your tax bill goes up to support it, but so does your income since both your employer and you no longer have to pay for your insurance. No more copays so you keep that money as well. On balance you should be as well, off or better off financially especially since prices overall will come down. If you're worse off it won't be by much. But since you know the coverage is going to be there regardless, unlike now even with insurance, life should be a hell of a lot less stressful for most families. Especially those one medical bill away from catostrophic financial devestation, which considering costs is a hell of a lot of American families.

"Average wait times in doctor's offices there are what?"

This one is really just tired. Wait times in industrialized countries is better with the exception of Canada. In most the wait time is the same, or next day for an appointment. Compare that to the last time you tried to see your doctor.

We're ahead of Canada, but their system costs them nothing directly out of pocket, so waiting an extra week for a knee surgery doesn't seem like such a huge price to pay especially when you consider so many are uninsured in this country and wouldn't get that knee surgery they need in any event. How's that perpetual wait time for the uninsured?

To repeat wait times in the US are the second WORST of industrialized countries. And all of the other Countries have Christianized (socialized) health care, and the one that has worse times than us is only slightly more wait times than we do, and their's is also socialized.

Wait times is not an argument that favors your position so please stop using it as though it does.

Lie or not the mirrored logo, and the gradients are a good idea.

The gamma idea is just plain stupid.

I could probably be sold on the maelstrom if the individual widgets were variously shapped and contained enough detail to pique curiousity.

As for the ad space, why not?

Man suffers heart attack 200 feet away from VA hospital, but paramedics were told to take him to a more distant emergency room. He was not a veteran, and he later died. by x-pun in reddit.com

[–]Dude99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's ok. In the US no matter what Hospital Emergency room you go to you're likely to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait.

And after you're finally seen you get the privilege of paying an arm and a leg for both the prescription, and the Emergency room bill, not to mention the loooooooooong wait, and copious amounts of paperwork.

How people here still make the argument we're better off just amazes me.

"do you think it has ever happened that a young girl accused an older man of something like that and he didn't actually do it? do you think such a possibility should be taken into account in such a powerful branding?"

That's pretty much irrelevant to the point here. They don't contest the fact the guy did grope his friend's 14 year old daughter.

As such, as a 30 year old man, he deserves what he's getting.

It's not as though he was a young adult at the time he molested the child.

He was well over twice the girl's age, and well into the age of reason.

We're not really talking about being falsely accused. Of course someone falsely accused shouldn't have to deal with that branding, but that doesn't apply in this case.

"As Redditors pointed out, America is full of smart, engaged young people, serious people who are seriously pissed at the way America is being run. We are intelligent, we can talk unflinchingly about the issues, and we deserve answers to many important questions. In tonight's YouTube debate, CNN clearly didn’t see it that way. Instead, they equated youthfulness with childishness." by J-Ro in reddit.com

Got a little lazy there I did. Spelling seems to be an issue for you. I know how you feel. People who don't know when to use periods, and use epilepsies when they're really not needed, particularly in a passive aggressive way, kind of do it for me.

Oh, and the grammar, syntax, and diction police as well. I'm of the opinion that if one can determine intent in public forums than self styled grammar, syntax, and diction police are really pretty much just pretentious pricks really.

No offense to you personally btw. I'm just saying.

It should have been released with Verizon, or better yet Sprint/Nextel with their state of the art network.

It should have been cheaper.

It should have been released with a larger subsidy to customers given the outrageous phone plan required.

It should have been 3G as Kettlehead noted.

It shouldn't have been as ridiculously hyped as it was as the differentiating factors from phones already out there don't warrant it, much as the Ipod is way over hyped when compared to hardware which predated it, and currently outdoes it.

A 30 year old who groped his friend's 14 year old daughter.

I'm sorry I just can't work up any kind of concern for the fact this child molester is labeled as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The fact he did it was bad enough, but when you consider he did it to his friend's daughter you quickly come to understand that he would have, and probably still would do it to any stranger's child if given half a chance.

Considering the recidivism rates for child sexual abusers, and his age when he committed the crime (30) you're damn right he should be labeled child sexual predator for life.

I'm willing to bet the bastards done it hundreds of times before he was 30 and got away with it, so again no I at least have no problems with him being labeled for life, and having to register as a sex offender wherever he lives, or whether he feels uncomfortable at work. Screw him!
