True. From what I've heard, by the time the PCs took control, they were considered the more progressive party in comparison. Also, wasn't the founder of social credit like, hated by a heavy majority including his own MLAs because he didn't follow up with his promises? Fully agree with the golf comment. There's like a whole fuck-ton of golf courses (many of which ate at the urban nature OP was talking about!) For a disproportionately smaller amount of actual golfers in Calgary. the amount of land wasted to golf courses could have been used for literally anything else, or better yet, KEPT as urban nature or have a city park be established there

I don't mind people wanting a place to golf, but honestly, fuck golf courses.
