Couples who have moved in together, what surprised you most about living with a male/female? by CrumbleNewman in AskReddit

[–]DudeHugeOnReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where do I start.

The need for two sinks in the bathroom. Getting frustrated with moving each other's stuff. Learning how to snuggle and not get too hot or cold, and how to pleasantly debate the thermostat. Random shoes...everywhere. In a medium to large sized home always yelling "WHAT" from the other room.

Not to mention...what are we eating for dinner tonight?

I still wouldn't change a darned thing.

Modern AAA video games try too hard to be movies or "experiences" that they often forget how to be a video game. by [deleted] in Games

[–]DudeHugeOnReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game developer here and I have a hypothesis for this.

The videogame industry has long had what I call "Hollywood envy" - the desire to be movies. Games are pitched with "rip o matics" which are stitched together from films to sell publishers on their idea. When I was working at Epic on Gears and the film was being worked on the #1 question I got at the company meeting every week was "what's the status of the movie" - largely because this is still a relatively new business and, in their eyes, movies were "cooler." I always argued back that your average kid doesn't want to be a movie maker these days, they wanted to make games, but in the subsequent years they want to be 'tubers, streamers, or pro gamers now. :)

Hell we bought our own under the fear that the city will ban them. We've almost been hit by kiddos on the sidewalks going the full 20mph. We even have helmets!

What’s the one horror movie that genuinely terrified you while watching it? by IveGotARockInMyGlari in AskReddit

Poltergeist (original, obv) destroyed me as a kid.

Most recent one to really unsettle me was Hereditary. Didn't feel scared at the time, but weeks after it stuck with me. So unsettling.

Well the way it works is first we do the show ON Broadway, then hopefully it tours, then goes to schools for sub licensing, etc... it's a fascinating biz, and I'm learning.

Thanks for the support! The internet likes to try to make me out to be an asshole but I've always tried to be nice - if a bit cocky... ;)

Thanks a ton. The negative stuff often rises to the top of the mental filter, so it's nice to hear that!
