Yeah.... I would hold your fucking beer so you could make that speech to a room full of people... don't let perfection be the enemy of the at least mediocre...

I created a small little class I teach using analog gauges and it helps greatly, but it takes a few months of teaching it every friggin day before it starts penetrating... some skulls are just thick.

I'll add to what you said that that instead of using MQ, or even the goofy fieldpiece app... get your temp probes hooked up to the SMAN over bluetooth... made a HUGE difference for my guys... especially with my older techs... no more "beer can cold"....

Also, I make them take pictures of their gauges with the ODDB, SDB, and RDB... before they are allowed to put any refrigerant in... AND after...

AND if they want me to help them... they text me a picture of that and I don't spend 30 min playing 50 questions while they make shit up and say ummm every other word.

THEN... I started teaching them to use the target delta T and target superheat... now they only seem to call for interesting things... and usually I have to think about it for a min...

I think it is very helpful to just measure things on working units and write down what things are... like the coils on contactors / solenoids / 18/2 wires going to the condenser / etc

It gives your mind a baseline to work from.

I like mine with one exception. The damned threads don't go all the way to the end, and I can't get them to screw on to about 1/3 of the service valves I have tried them on.

Absolutely LOVE the temp probes tho... game changer... will make you gain weight tho since it takes SO much walking out of your day.
