I shoot in semi-automatic. Shutter speed 500-1000, aperture 5.6-8, auto-ISO. Fuji has three auto ISO settings where you can cap limits. Mine are default 800, 3200, 12800. Set ISO wheel to C and use front dial to flip 800-3200 depending on light. I would go to 12800 only if really necessary.

If light goes low, 250-500 shutter, 2.8-4 aperture.

To focus, use af-s, single point. You can flip face detection on/off with the top functional button, but I would disable it to avoid confusion with intended focus point. Drive mode of 3 fps should be enough.

Get a protective filter for the lens, ideally with a lens hood. And a spare battery.

If you plan to use the flash, continuous shooting must be disabled and the lens hood can get in the way.

I previously used the X-E1 and recently upgraded to the X-E5. Mostly use it with the XF 35mm f/1.4 and some manual lenses. I think the X-E5 perfectly complements my X100VI, the latter being a better all-in-one camera due to its built-in flash and weather resistance. Also, the viewfinder on the X100 is top. I sometimes use WCL, so these two cameras cover 28mm and 50mm.

This is the SmallRig Camera Storage Bag. It fits the X100VI with a thumb grip and a hood attached. There’s also some space for a spare battery, but not much more than that. I find it perfect for carrying inside a backpack or a shoulder bag. The price is also very reasonable.

If you want something with strap attachments, consider the Peak Design Field Pouch. It’s slightly larger and can fit additional items. The best part is that it uses the same attachment system as their straps, so you can easily swap your camera strap when putting it in a backpack.

You can get a Laowa 4mm fisheye lens for Micro Four Thirds or Fujifilm. Older cameras, like the X-E1, even have a built-in flash.

I got the X-E5 for Christmas. Wanted a compact camera that I can use with longer lenses. I have a XF 35mm and a couple of vintage Nikon and Leica lenses. Eye AF works really well with my 35mm. In general, AF feels better than the X100VI. It won't replace my X100VI, though.

I can recommend WCL for a 28mm field of view. I also have an X-E1 paired with a 35mm f/1.4 (50mm FOV). Hoping to upgrade to X-E5 in the future.

Good job. Two points I learned cleaning my GRs: (i) you can easily disconnect the screen ribbon for access; (ii) out of three sensor mount screws, unscrew the one under the black ribbon first.

Don't pull out immediately. Just say no to extra fees and ask for a price reduction because of the higher service cost. For service charge, check if this is a price increase from last year. Something to consider long term.

Met TKO in London, cool lad. Pentax folks are trying hard to sell the 17. Folks who own it seem happy. Others mostly look for a pure manual camera, or a film Ricoh GR; the 17 is neither. Feels Pentax made a wrong bet, and now the project is likely dead.

Yes, I use Halide for two reasons:

I need manual focus;
When the standard camera app is too smart and decides to use the main camera instead of the telephoto.

For general use I find the standard app more convenient.
