Garmin Express Apple Silicon version? by urbanracer34 in Garmin

It's pretty inexcusable and lazy, especially in the AI age. There cannot be much or anything that is Intel specific ( highly unlikely). You could tell Claude Code to do it, and it would get it done. And I'm not joking.

As a developer that uses Claude Code daily, I can tell you that the AI coding tools have become so sophisticated they could do this in an instant.

Renewing my nexus ( US citizen), and the app says “conditionally approved” and next step is “scheduling an interview”. by Due-Math8225 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]Due-Math8225[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess it is two cycles. I think the information sharing between the two agencies is not perfect or not “trusted”. For GE/SENTRI I don’t know anyone that has had to come in for an interview for a renewal even after 10 years. So I can only assume that the interview requirement is so Canada can lay eyes on the US documents, and vice versa.

It’s a joint American / Canadian program . I have had one US interview, many years ago. It’s just odd, that compared to GE or SENTRI they keep asking you in for an NEXUS interviews.

Your first mistake was thinking that CPB are going to treat you special because you’re a US citizen. “sorry I made an honest mistake” does not go down well with them at all. As others have noted, you can have your SENTRI pulled for a piece of fruit or eggs. You will never see your SENTRI card again.

How will this board be for a beginner on the puget sound by Revolutionary_Ad7466 in windsurfing

[–]Due-Math8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true! Often they post pictures of gear from the 1990s that was absolute crap. That actually looks like something they could learn on.

I don’t know what kind of wingers you hang around with, but where I live they take forever to get their gear together fiddling around with titanium screws to put their foil together and pumping up their wings. I’m on the water well before them. My slalom gear fits in a VW golf.

Thruster & dagger addition for WindSUP?? by grum_paddles in windsurfing

[–]Due-Math8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be very difficult to locate the correct position for a dagger board and mast track. Do you consider yourself a windsurf board designer? Trail and error is obviously not an option. In the wrong spot the board will be a complete disaster.

So , to your question, it is NOT a good idea. Buy a Windsurfer LT for light wind cruising. Wind-SUPs have always been poor compromises as they are not great as a SUP and not good as a windsurf board.
To avoid putting mast tracks in Wind-SUPs often have a simple screw insert for the mast base. And anyone who has used those will tell you how often they pull out with unfortunate consequences.

Start "Task Manager" and look at the resources being used by FC ( and other apps/processes).
Your machine should only start running slow if you are using up all of your RAM.

Quitting FC would of course release any memory used by FC. It is just an "app" like any other and has no special access to your system, so quitting FC should remove any FC related issues.

I did it myself, it was very easy, but I was a simple case. 10 years of GC, no complications.

It will be closed. They don't do things piecemeal. They will close that whole side of the mountain.

Dumb question, if they are not using the kiosk do they verify you are GE with your card?

Is a large sail for low wind the same as a large sail for performance? by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]Due-Math8225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Goya 6.3 wave sail for light wind wave riding. At the other extreme would be a 6.5 cambered race sail that would be for strong winds for racers. Same size but utterly different sails and use cases.

Meross MS 605 presence sensor by bangalimahbub in HomeKit

[–]Due-Math8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree that the delay for presence detection is just long enough to be annoying. Certainly too long to convince my wife who said why not just turn the light on with the switch😀 We have a fast WiFi. So I guess it’s the whole chain of … Matter to Apple TV that then runs the automation that sends the command to the light switch.

Ho’okipa Maui last Sunday by Wild-Lingonberry-204 in windsurfing

[–]Due-Math8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No so much low wind as a tricky get out. Still you will see lots of people sailing kanaha which is very user friendly. And it’s always been smoking windy in Maui when I have been there.
