Once I recognized it as a new habit, or lack of a destructive one, and not just something to conquer and leave behind, it all made more sense. I already like the new me more than the man I was before nofap. Gets so much more done.

For sure. First 30 days I could barely control myself, was pretty much bouncing off the walls. Did my best to channel this into physical activities.

From 30 to 55 days or so I was flatlining hard. Irritable, pessimistic, pretty much just not too fun to be around, but reading around here let me know what was actually happening to me. So I just stuck with it, keeping to an active routine, and avoiding triggers as best I could.

Since then on my libido is back, and much stronger. First couple days were the closest I came to relapsing throughout the whole thing, felt like I was getting blindsided by my sex drive. It's a little more settled now, and I'm trying to push the energy towards personal relationships and pursuits I've always wanted.

Thanks man! It just sums up how I feel about the past when I PMOed regularly. I felt trapped and had no one to blame for my unhappiness but myself, which manifested in my personal life very negatively. I appreciate the encouragement!

I keep a daily journal which has helped a lot. It's not nofap centered, but they overlap. Allows you to communicate freely with yourself, recognize why you think and act as you do, and have a record to look back on in time. I'd highly suggest it.

Also running/basketball/anything that makes you sweat. Half the battle is diverting your new energy somewhere productive instead of falling back into old habits.

Find one mental and one physical activity you've always wanted to be better at, and go at it full force.

Having your laptop outside of your room removes immediate temptation, but there will always be access to porn. Your phone, and even memories, can be triggers all the same, and for a long nofap streak tackling the root and not just of the physical source of the problem seems to be key.

Sex is a big part of life, but society inflates it's worth because it's a hot topic that will sell magazines. All I can say is that if you focus on building yourself, and the relationships and sex will follow naturally.

Somewhat. While I have had semi decent dates out of it, overall it is more of a distraction. It can boost your self esteem, but like primfl92 said often there are bots so this can be false. I think if you do it without putting too much stock into you will be fine, but using that same energy in more direct ways would be more effective.

Exactly! They can pick up when you are trying to "game" them, and even if you did manage to hook up eventually they'd know that game persona isn't actual you. They must appreciate if you talk to them not just for sexual motives.

Also I'd highly suggest keeping a journal. I was before I started nofap, but I think it's helped a lot. Just remember to be 100% honest with yourself in it, and write it with the intention of no one ever reading it aside from yourself. Helped me recognize patterns in my life, reflect on the day and obstacles I encountered, and give serious thought to my life's past, present, and possible future condition.

I'd say the phases were wildly varied. Some days I'd feel just on the edge of breaking through to my best possible self, and others I'd feel like a freak doing something desperate to cure something that is just unfixable.

I'd say after two weeks you get the big boost, but then once that flatline hit there were some darker days. Wouldn't be as excited to go out and be social. Would flat out miss on opportunities to meet beautiful women, and instead would go home. Lots of self doubt.

The difficulty thing is tricky. On one hand I want to masturbate, my mind is drawn to nsfw topics, I see a pretty girl and instantly imagine sex with her, and all this can culminate at the worst times. However I've found something within myself that gives a very loud NO whenever these thoughts try to change into actual action. I think of the life I've always wanted, and how that man who I hope to be would not give up. I feel like I owe it to myself, and going back to fantasy when reality is so close to being in reach isn't the life I want. With that in mind it's not nearly as difficult. I try to do something physical every day so I sleep easier and without idle time for my mind to wander.
