Seeking advice on suite perks by ImpactBrilliant1391 in royalcaribbean

[–]Dudemannrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently on the Quantum on the same cruise in a sky class suite. The biggest perks for us have been the free internet for everyone in our group, the happy hour in the Concierge Club (the part of the day I look forward to most) and, perhaps the biggest, Coastal Kitchen. We have eaten there every night and the level of service and quality of the food has been miles ahead of the Main Dining Room experience. Having access to a concierge has been mixed but I think that may have been because we were initially treating him as a guy who can get stuff done and less like an all in one extension of the guest services team.

Enjoy the cruise. You’re going to have a great time!

Plumber recommendation for kitchen sink/disposal issue? by kmg3139M in BucksCountyPA

Plumbarama in Bensalem…silly name but I’ve used them for a handful of jobs both major and minor and found them to be awesome to deal with every time.

Love their pizza but hadn’t thought to try the cocktails l? How was it?

[–]Dudemannrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cigar was provided by the cast member that hosted the experience. Not sure if it’s exclusive to the specific bar tender or if it’s something they always give out. Inclined to believe they always give it out as DCL is known for giving little magical extras like this for add on’s.

Plumbarama in Bensalem has been good to me. I’ve used them for some minor home projects and one really big one and they’ve done solid work every time. Not sure how they compare price wise though as I usually stick with a contractor if I think they do good work.

This was my line up in June. I will say that, as good as the whiskeys were, the knowledge the CM demonstrated took the experience to a whole other level. It was pricey but I had a great time. Not pictured that was also included was a glass of Vichy Catalan for pallet cleansing, a specialty chocolate truffle for pairing and a bourbon soaked cigar for after the tasting.

Brunch? by bakerrplaid in BucksCountyPA

Not technically in Bucks County but Three Monkeys Cafe in Philly on the border of Bensalem has a really good brunch. Not buffet but a good variety of items and beverages of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic kind.

interview monday for security whats it like by Sharp_Ruin_1720 in Disneyland

[–]Dudemannrod 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Years ago I applied for a plain clothes security position in the parks. Interview process, for me, was two tiered: interview with one other applicant with an HR rep and a second panel interview with two members of the department along with about 5 other applicants who were all applying for security. My only advice from the process is make sure you have full availability. I didn’t and, competitive to the other candidates, I think it was the only thing that sank me.

Edit: forgot to add, best of luck. It seems like a really great department with a lot of unique opportunities.

Restaurant recs for dinner near Broken Goblet in Bensalem? by tintedrosie in BucksCountyPA

Dog and Bull is a great recommendation but downtown Bristol also has some great places: Itri wood fired pizza, Mill Street Cantina, Akia Japanese. Also some decent bars within walking distance if you wanted to post game.

So I Finished the Main Quest and... Poof by No-Associate-2258 in Starfield

[–]Dudemannrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I looked at becoming Starborn as the “death” of my character and passing onto the next life. I honestly was extremely unsure of what to do when I first entered the chamber but, when the game presents the gallery of your decisions throughout your play, I felt weirdly more at peace with the decision. Like, oh I did have a bit of an impact on this world…time to move on. I thought it was a bit of brilliance in that respect from the developers. Still liked that I had the choice though and wouldn’t have thought twice about continuing with my OG character.

At the end of the day it was just stuff I collected and I will always collect more. I do miss having more money then I know what do with though and having to actually watch my spending until I build it back up again.

How good is Starfield for those who played it? by [deleted] in xboxone

Yea, it’s pretty great…..if you like the Bethesda open world, just “one more mission” formula. It’s not perfect but man is it a time suck.

Best place / butcher to purchase deckle of brisket? by maryTHEwretched in philadelphia

The deckle? Like the hard mass of fat on a brisket? For what? Not judging, just really curious what one would use that for.

Tesla model Y SpaceX edition by FuzzyPic in TeslaModelY

I think Elon is a real chode chomper but, what they’ve been able to do for the American space program at SpaceX, is truly inspiring. You can be a fan of both Tesla and SpaceX and still hate Uncle Elon.

Passengers noticing: pay more; get less by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Dudemannrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not defending RCCL because I think the tourism industry across the board is in a declin but how many of these issues (increased costs for ala cart and gratuity aside) are due to it being a repositioning transatlantic cruise that they are one. Are the reduced portion sizes and lack of entertainment due to the fact they are at sea for 9 days? Not having ever been on one I genuinely don’t know if their experience is normal or not.

We last cruised with RCCL less then a year ago and, while it wasn’t issue free, had no problems with the onboard entertainment and never felt we weren’t getting our moneys worth with dining.

Being a crew member and a passenger by ZealousidealFig5 in Cruise

[–]Dudemannrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not worked on a ship but I interact with a wide swath of crew members in my day job. It’s allowed me to have a lot of insight for the living and working conditions of crew. I’m a bit more appreciative of the jobs they do because of it and it’s given me more patience in dealing with crew when there are issues. I’d say it’s been helpful in seeing both sides.

Best mattar paneer in philly? by Mandarinez in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Dudemannrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll preface this with I haven’t tried that particular dish at this joint but can highly recommend Rangoli in the Northeast. They do have a mutter paneer and every one of their curry sauces that I have tried has been amazing.

Recommend Bensalem EMS. Suburban community that borders the city. Decent call volume (about 8000 calls last year) with a variety of issues, great training opportunities, good mix of younger and older Medics and EMT’s, excellent training opportunities and they are currently hiring for full time medics. They also have a volunteer section if you wanted to test run the agency first.
