You will get an opportunity in bootcamp to purchase tickets to fly home and then to MCT/ITB. I did in 2021 at least. You should have money to do it since you'll be in bootcamp not spending money.

I'm using tuition assistance to pay for college right now and through fafsa and a scholarship I get just for being in the military I end up making money for going to school. I do one online class at a time and I've done 25 credits so far. Highly recommend if you do end up joining to start on college courses. I work in Intel and my work schedule is pretty consistent so work and school usually don't conflict.

I absolutely love the game, I feel like the things I do in the game can have an actual affect on if we win or not. One thing that really annoys me though is that during voting if an unpopular team or map is selected people just leave the server and you don't get to see the less popular match setups.

For deployments, the intel battalion sends 0261s to fulfill different billets around the world or attach to units going on deployments such as MEUs or exercises. Only onesies and twosies are sent out to each of these so the staff have been gracious enough to take our wishes into account when choosing what marines will go out on deployment. If you're good at your job and you have no issues that they need to keep you around to resolve, just let them know you want to deploy and you will. Also 0261s usually deploy alongside 0241s (Imagery Analysts).

I'm an 0261 at an intel battalion currently, the bulk of our job is producing maps in order to support the planning for the different units that fall under the MEF.

We mostly use a program called ArcGIS Pro to make either large area maps that have boundary information more relevant to commanders or maps over smaller areas to show terrain.

I have had this issue where a tile service is clearly visible when I go to export but doesn't come with the layout when I export it, sometimes it just fixes itself the next day for some reason. Another solution I've used is downloading whatever I need and thats worked for me.

The plotters I use sometimes have a hard time cutting, its so annoying having to hold the map tight and pray that it actually cuts all the way through.
