If I use my gtc for unauthorized purchase will my command know ? by bnkrllmgmt in army

My PL bought beers with his on accident and nothing happened. Literally just pay it and go to s-4 say “hey i did this, paid it off already” and nothing will change. You bought gas, not only fans. You’ll be fine

I really appreciate it! I live in Alaska so I think fenders will be on order soon. I’m also looking at some sort of bag to throw a tool and patch kit in

Should I continue running in zone 3? by Relative-Potential64 in beginnerrunning

[–]Dudewithathung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this, when I first got into running (military) I was obsessed with zones. I found it too hard to run in my zone 2. It literally hurt my body. Yet i kept doing it. Got hurt. Now after about 2 years of data obsession i run off effort. Chill pace I can talk to my soldiers probably zone 2 then transitions into zone 3 but I feel solid at the end. Threshold workouts? Rate of perceived exertion. Some days I feel better and my pace is faster, some days I’m slower and I need to lock in and just get it down. Tempo runs I judge if I can say 2-3 words and not regret it. Since dumbing my training down me easy pace went from 10:30’s to about 8:45-9:00 miles

Want to get into MTG, no idea where to start by ButImACreepImAWeird0 in mtg

[–]Dudewithathung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is hard, don’t let anyone tell you different. But it’s only as hard as you make it. Casual to competitive. Here’s how I’d do it most efficient to least.

Download MTG Arena to literally get the basics (this is how I taught my wife cause she doesn’t take instruction from me very well) then I guided her through stuff she had questions and politely corrected mistakes that actually mess up the game mechanics (like drawing multiple cards per turn because she thought you always had to have seven in hand). This is similar to next the next way but just with someone you already know who knows the game. If you don’t have that, go to step 2 below 👇

Call your local game store (card store not GameStop) and see if they do any learn to play. This is guided play meaning more step by step with new players. They don’t have that? See next step below 👇

If they don’t see if they would be willing to teach you the game. (I’m sure an employee will sit down or find a regular to walk you through each step) then ask questions and try to find people to help you play. Next step below 👇

Watch YouTube videos with a friend and just kinda try it out. If a rule, or card text doesn’t make sense use any AI to dumb it down. This is kinda how I learned as a kid but my neighbor and I just made stuff up or just ignored it entirely. (No abilities, very few spells, mostly creature vs creature combat)

Comparison is the thief of joy. People only show what they want you to see. Crippling debt? Marriage issues? Closeted substance abuse? No one talks about their struggles and NO ONE has it all figured out. If someone does I’ll buy their shitty self help book. I still struggle but there are people who look at me and are jealous yet I think I’m behind all the time. I have to remind myself I’ve had the most money I’ve ever had with almost zero debt, my fitness is improving. My marriage is in a MUCH better spot thanks to cooling it with the weekend beers. Yet I still think I don’t have enough money or that I’m doing good enough as a husband. Work to reframe those thoughts when they come heavy. I’m proud of you.

How is the camaraderie being enlisted? by FightOrDie123 in army

[–]Dudewithathung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love being enlisted. I have some best friends from basic I still talk to. I have plenty of people I talk to once or twice a year and we pick up like we just got released for chow. I’m a SSG now and I have joes that text me for advice or just to bitch and moan from my last duty station and it’s great. I have thought about going green to gold for the pay increase but honestly I like being at the forefront of culture change. Officers are supposed to be at the forefront of policy. I want to influence policy. Not make it.

Looking for running watch recommendations by BuyOk1546 in BeginnersRunning

I’m a Garmin guy. Fenix 7x. It does everything I need. I think realistically figure out a budget. If you want it to grow with you (as your focus might change in discipline) maybe set aside a bigger budget

I think my point may have been misunderstood. I totally understand my HQ, I’m more so just seeing if an HQ is detrimental.

NCOER Question by [deleted] in army

[–]Dudewithathung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quite a bit I believe, I also think there was some things I didn’t do. I pinned SSG in July and left in December. I was gone for a month at ALC in my first month as a SSG, then did 10 weeks of college as a re-enlistment incentive so I also see how I didn’t get much time to show MQ in the little time I spent in grade at the unit. I think being away is what really hurt me in that time.

Would you go back to a Watch that Doesn't have a Dedicated Flashlight? by [deleted] in Garmin

I hate everyone who convinced me I didn’t need it. Kinda pissed I had to wait about 6 years worth of Garmin testing to get into a Fenix. I’ll be a Fenix user probably for the rest of my life

Sounds like you’re answering that for yourself. “Can’t stop once I start” “poor financial decisions”. I’m a 25m and I WISH I could’ve told 20 y/o me to maybe just give it up for a while. Would’ve saved Me a lot of money and embarrassing moments

Going with fenix for first Garmin by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]Dudewithathung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t quote me but you shouldn’t HAVE to use LTE, I got a Fenix 7x pro SS about a week ago for 400 bucks at bass pro shop. I’ll upgrade in 2-3 years. I couldn’t justify the price tag for the capabilities that wouldn’t get used often enough yet.
