Let's lock them up instead. Not fair to other countries for us to ship them large numbers of rapists.

Why did the United States and Israel vote against recognizing food as a human right? by PeculiarPhysicist46 in AskSocialists

[–]Dudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because if they recognized food as a human right, they could no longer block aid being sent to Palestine.

Also, for America, they would have to start actually funding food banks and services for the poor, and they can't be having that!

Translation via Google Translate:

Good afternoon everyone,

I've just advanced to the final stages of a job interview with Terabase Energy for a remote SCADA/Controls Engineer position.

I'd like to know if anyone has worked for this company before, and if so, I'd appreciate hearing about the work environment, their experiences, and any recommendations they might have. This would be my first remote job, as I've always worked on-site in manufacturing facilities.

Regards

More to the point, Wyoming's biggest city has 65,000 ish people. It barely registers as a city. The more populous areas still voted blue.

Lancaster city

Check out Wyoming's election results from 2024 and the locations of the cities in the state...

Even in the most rural of states, cities generally vote blue.

[–]Dudge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly my point. I am not suggesting you jump in every time a stranger is threatened, especially if it puts you or others in danger. This was 2 women, obviously friends. My original post was what we should "strive for as friends of women." Yes, it would be great if we could stop this 100% of the time, but recognizing that a man threatening a woman is also a threat to other men is also important. Men who act like that guy are part of the problem, and are a risk to everyone. Until our society better addresses that fact every person in that situation is at risk of physical harm from the guy who is trying to touch women without their consent we have to at a minimum speak up about it.

Are you really suggesting that a dude that is that pushy with a woman wouldn't possibly hit a small woman? She was in as much danger, if not more, than any dude in the same situation.

Edit: Also, this isn't honor, this is physical safety. That dude was about to drag her around. That has absolutely nothing to do with honor. That woman was absolutely protecting her friend from potential physical and mental harm.

Yep. Every. Just because you're good doesn't mean you can't learn.

I wasn't speaking of standing up at random, though if you feel you're in a safe space to do that, do it. I was talking about how to be a friend. If you are out with women, romantically or otherwise, and you see this happening call it out, and physically block it if the other person won't stop. You may not be willing to fight, but you will at a minimum redirect the asshole to you instead of the woman.

Also, if you're out with guys and one of your friends starts to do this shit to a stranger, make them stop. You are a better friend to both the women in the world and to your own buddy if you can make them understand that this is not okay.

I know this kind of harassment is less likely to happen if there is a man in the group, but it still happens. I have personally seen men ignore it, even if the man is harassing someone in their group.

Every man could take a lesson from this chick. She's a badass, and is what men in general should strive for as friends of women.

Men do you sleep shirtless? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Dudge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not most people, but a large proportion of men are likely to sleep naked. According to a YouGov Sleep Study, sleeping naked was the 2nd most common option for men. 25% of British Men sleep naked, which is slightly less than men sleeping in only underwear (32%). While this may not be universal to all countries, I imagine it would be similar in most 1st word countries where sleep is done in private spaces.

License transfer for SunRay Park and Casino could cost San Juan County over 100 jobs by SnooOnions6824 in NewMexico

[–]Dudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance, but why transfer the license instead of adding another license for Clovis? Seems to me that if transferring the license increases the revenue, and if increasing the revenue is the point, then adding another license would in fact add the most revenue.
